Get thinking, as Feral Interactive are teasing another new Linux port
2 October 2017 at 7:57 pm UTC

While I wouldn't mind if it were Tomb Raider, I think it goes against Feral's strategy. TR is in the humble monthly which quite some Linux (and Mac) gamers are subscribed to. So it would mean less sales for them. Assassin's Creed would make them more money I believe.

On top of my personal wishlist would be 'Life is Strange: Before the Storm' but I don't think it will get ported before all episodes are released. 'Middle-earth: Shadow of War' and 'Total War: Warhammer II' are certainly hot candidates for Feral as well.

They seem to know what they are doing and the game's premise is great!

Also I briefly chatted with their CEO on Facebook and he said the Linux version will be available with the Early Access launch on Steam. Meaning the tiers with EA are well worth it for us. =)

I played the game using SteamLink and a SteamController. That worked perfectly. I guess my controller habit spared me the issues. =)

Albion Online fixes lag issues that plagued servers

Quoting: Crazy PenguinWell, I have my doubt on the DDOS-Theory anyway. I think this was just an excuse for overloaded servers. IMHO is it a bit strange that now as the first premium wave including compensation ended 2 days ago and suddenly the lag is fixed is a bit odd.

Funny side effect the chat has become readable too.

Believe me, we worked really intense since the release to get the issues fixed as quickly as possible! The first 2 weeks were server issues due to the load and you can imagine how we felt getting attacked (DDOS) the day after we deployed a solution for that performance issues.

Quoting: lucifertdarkTelltale were more than likely ordered to kill all Linux development or lose their spot in the Windows App Store. Microsoft have always been shady b'stards.

Given M$ attitude to open source I would not be surprised at all.

Seriously? I recently read that Microsoft has more on github than any other company..

That talks about contributor count, not how much they have on github.

Which might actually be the more important metric. Also 1366 repositories is also not a small number ( https://github.com/Microsoft ).

Don't get me wrong. I think it's mainly out of necessity not because the truly believe in it. However, their contributions are quite huge and most stuff is now even available in Linux (e.g. .NET core and VS code). So saying that they have a bad attitude towards open source isn't true at all anymore.
