Lutris also has scripts for automated installing of mods/fan patches/open source interpreters for your gog purchases.

Quoting: RevenantDakQuoting: slaapliedjeThey both eventually launch games though, right? I actually prefer the Lutris method as launchers are crap. :)
Eventually? I guess. With Lutris, you still have to install Epic Game Store (and all other Launchers) separately, and installing GOG games really doesn't need either, Heroic just makes it easier. With Heroic, you skip having to install EGS or GOG Galaxy. There is nothing that Lutris does that I can't do either with Steam or Heroic. I don't see the purpose of Lutris, at all.

Nintendo blocked Dolphin emulator release on Steam

On top of that it is doing the gaming equivalent of telling people where they are allowed to hang their paintings.
A gross overreach of restricting people's freedoms for no better reason than to protect the dubious business model of catching customers into a console ecosystem.

So, if everyone else is being unethical and scummy, that makes it OK? I don't care about Sony either. Nintendo is an unethical company selling low-quality hardware and subsists mostly off of nostalgia addiction.
Attacking game preservation is unethical. Selling hardware you know is defective is unethical. And those are just two very obvious examples.

Reus 2 announced letting you shape humanity again

Since we're likely talking about a non-native English speaker, I'll forgive them their lapse.
(sorry, couldn't resist)
Also, it seems that the first Reus does have a native linux version. I'll be checking how it runs.
Edit: steam version running fine here. Small fonts may be problematic on smaller screens, though.

Yes, that would have been obvious if they didn't say that they don't have any "native" Linux users.
We say native Linux vs not for what the game _target_ is, I'd never heard anyone call their development OS native.

It's also being severely restricted by memory bandwith. Even asus's and amd's own marketing materials show just how much of a waste of silicon those extra tflops are.

Quoting: Guest8.6 tflops is crazy number for a handheld device, it is twice bigger than ps4pro, on par with rtx2070 tier GPU, and just a bit behind current gen consoles. you literally can replace a decent gaming pc with it

GOG reveal some stats on how they're doing

Maybe so, but the credit they do deserve is for not standing in the way of such launchers.
For all the support that valve gives to linux, one still must download and install valve's shop just to be able to play the games you purchase on steam.

GOG isn't even close. Recently thanks to 3rd party apps, like heroic store app and lutris, gog gets something viable. But i don't think they deserve much credit for that...

Not necessarily; there's two generations of improvements for the cpu, and one for gpu in there compared to the deck, and from the desktop zen4 parts we know that the new gen is easily tweaked to have lower power consumption than zen3 whilst still handily beating the older gen in performance.

But, could somebody maybe do a wimpy Linux laptop? That's more what I'm in the market for.

Never managed to get any version of lutris working, even on a clean mint install. Got rather sick of seeing "error 256" when attempting to install anything with it.
For now, I am managing fine with heroic ^_^
