I don't want to boot another OS, even a linux one, to play 32 bits games or launch 32 bits software, I want to launch them on my actual session and the simpler way possible.

Don't panic, I'm sure there will be soon a solution like a "steam runtime" package containing all old needed 32 bits libraries or another solution like "VM". I just hope it will be a simpler solution as installing 32 bits software is hell for a newbie that just want to play his old 32 bits game on Linux.

The Bard's Tale IV: Barrows Deep to launch on Linux "late summer", no Bard’s Tale Trilogy due to Steam Play

Soon, Windows or Linux or Playstation...all this platform war will be useless because we are soon all playing by the cloud. So I think Valve invest money in Linux and Wine development just to obtain a cloud games platform without Microsoft. At this step, support will be the same for all.

If it works nice with Steamplay, why the dev should bother develop another port for the same result?

Confessing my continued love of the Steam Controller, a few years after release

I am completely convinced by this gamepad, nice to use, more programmable buttons than a xbox360, a bank of profiles online, great autonomy ... I even buy a second for my guests. I just hope Steam will continue to offer this product to sell.

The streaming games will soon replace all known games format we know: CD, DVD, digital, consoles...
For the dev/publisher it's an evolution: less support, the game just work for everyone the same way, less development: you develop your game for one platform, the server it is installed on, that's all.
For the gamers it's an evolution too: click and play, the console mind, you don't need to tweak during several hours...no update to install...just play instantly, whatever the platform.

Quotethey added support for "developers and Valve testing specifying default Proton configuration options for games even if they're not yet white-listed".
They gave developers tools for their games have better Steamplay support, very nice, I hope this will sensitize developers who do not plan to develop their game for Linux to make it more Linux-friendly.

QuoteSteam In-Home Streaming is experimentally available outside the home, and is now known as Steam Remote Play.
So If I correctly understood, we don't need Steam Link for remote gaming?
Is this new feature a next step towards a full network gaming solution as Google Strada or Playstation now?

QuoteWe will now download official Steam Input configurations during game installation for Steam Input users. This should fix the issue where Steam Input games would need to be run once before controllers worked in offline mode
I'm using more and more my Steam Controller instead of my x360: more comfortable, more keys to program, config bank available online for games...I'm thinking to buy a second one when my friend play with me.

Very nice work but my hardware config is not enough strong to play a PS3 game in optimal conditions.

Everyone has his virtual games shop now, Valve was the first to launch the concept and now we have: Epic, Ubisoft, Blizzard, Origins...The war started. I'm not sure Steamplay will be a sufficient answer towards this aggressive concurrents. Valve should return to games development, if only they could develop and publish exclusive games. Imagine Half Life 3 exclusive to Steam platform...And like Sony they need to negociate exclusive AAA games for Steam shop.
Why I have Uplay installed on Linux? Because the game I bought (Far Cry 3 on Steam) needs Uplay to launch. Why I have Battle.Net installed on my Linux install? Because Warcraft III and WOW are not available on Steam.
