Some nuts Black Friday deals for Linux gamers to make note of

Not many good deals, I'm afraid. I got Life is Strange and Sheltered, more because the price was right than anything else. If a game is able to provide me hour of good fun per euro paid, I consider that money well spent. Sadly, too few games are able to grab and hold my attention nowdays.

Expected Life is Strange to be on sale, disappointed that it isn't. No other game I want is on significant sale either. I should really pick up Metro Redux games, but I won't be able to play them before I buy a new computer anyway, so there is no rush.
Review: Linux gave me one of my best gaming experiences yet with Life is Strange

The new genre of story adventures is my kind of thing. When I first played The Wolf Among Us episode 1 I fell in love immediately and bought all the episodes. But the same thing didn't happen when I played Life is Strange. I will still buy it though, but I'll wait for a 50% discount.
The game just doesn't have interesting characters, all is too cliché. Second, even those characters are not believable, in Oxenfree for instance main character indeed reasons and speaks like a teenage girl to the point where I as a middle aged man could not relate to the character. On the other hand, Max feels like a grown man pretending to be a teenage girl. Don't post any spoilers as I do want to finish the game at some point, but just barely.

Wanted so much to love this game, but in never clicked for me. Too fast, too dark, I was getting lost in combat most of the time.

All the best games are in the basic package, no reason for me to pay much.
Though if I had a girlfriend who played games, I'd definitely want Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime.

Didn't play Dota 2 much, but had a lot of hours in Heroes of Newerth, which I considered a slightly better game. Stopped playing MOBAs altogether few years ago, it increased my quality of life significantly.
Life is Strange released for Linux & SteamOS, some thoughts and a port report included

If I knew the port is so close, I would have picked up this at the Steam summer sale instead of Oxenfree for the same money. I guess I'll wait for Life is Strange to be again on 50% discount, though if the first episode impresses me a lot, I might impulse buy it, like I did with Wolf Among Us. Really good marketing strategy to give people first chapter of a mystery novel for free.
Shadows of Kurgansk, a good looking single-player action and survival game now on Linux & SteamOS

To me, it looks like a sloppy recreation of Stalker: Shadows of Chernobyl with cell shaded graphics. They didn't even bother changing the name much.

Deadlight. I bought that game on a sale two years ago when it first leaked that Linux client is in the works. After that I'm always waiting for the actual Linux version to come out.
And so it begins, the Steam Summer Sale is here

I'm getting Tomb Raider and Shadowrun: Hong Kong, that much is a given. But what else? Should I go for Oxenfree, as it looks like Kentacky Route Zero will never be under 10 euros (screw those guys). Or go with Life is Strange and then prey that it actually comes to Linux?
