Quoting: GuestHaven’t finished Shadow Warrior 1 yet, probably won’t buy that one. Too basic… just follow the corridor and kill the enemies…

Dota 2 Reborn Launches Without Linux Support

Valve is not treating Linux as second class, it's in fact treating Linux as first class and Windows as second class. If you want to use the "Steam Machine" brand you have to use the Linux based SteamOS. If you want to include a Steam Controller with your box it has to run SteamOS, or at least that's what the Alienware guy implied in this video:

Quoting: Mountain ManQuoting: lucifertdarkLinux users have to play the waiting game again, this is how it's always been, heck we've waited years/decades for game support as good as Valve is supplying, a few more days wait isn't going to kill anyone. That's not the problem. The problem is that even Valve is treating Linux users like second class citizens despite their efforts over the past few years to promote Linux as a viable gaming platform. If any developer were to have a day-one Linux release, you'd expect it to be Valve. A move like this sends mixed messages.

Dota 2 Reborn Launches Without Linux Support

Most likely they just faced last minute issues with OpenGL and decided to delay the Linux/Mac release and stick to the release date for Windows version, which I presume is using DirectX. Very normal in software development for last minute issues to arrise and cause delays.

Quoting: stssCan someone put our fears to rest and say this makes sense from a development perspective on an engine that is supposed to be built from the bottom up with multiplatform support?

Fallout 4 And Steam Machine Release Dates A Coincidence? Yes, Probably.

I don't know, but this is the last big gaming event before the release of Steam Machines. So if there is anything important to announce about Steam Machines this is the chance.

Quoting: KeizgonQuoting: sarmadIf it's going to SteamOS it should be announced during E3. So we should know for sure in a matter of days.
Are they even attending E3?

The Steam Hardware Survey For May Is Here, It’s Not All Doom & Gloom

Why do so many people think that the survey appears more on Windows than Linux? If it's appearing more on Windows than Linux with you that just means you are using Steam under Windows more than you do under Linux. I have had the surevy twice on Linux and none on Windows.

Quoting: subI hope rumours are not true that Newell just came up with Linux/SteamOS/SteamMachines to put pressure on Microsoft.Who said Valve only fears Windows Store? Windows is only one of the reasons behind SteamOS. The other reason is the competition coming from EA's Origin, GOG, etc.
As Win10 seems like it will get good reception and "lacks" all the stuff Newell was afraid of, some people argue Valve might abandon Linux sooner or later. After all, SteamMachines missed the fantastic "Win8" time window to take off - and that sounds reasonable to me. :/
Valve Finally Have A Proper Refund Policy For Steam

Finally!!! I can now just go ahead and buy the game instead of spending an hour searching google on whether my hardware can support such a game. Well done, Valve.
Massive Planetary Annihilation Patch Released, Awesome Stuff

Yup, I did. But, to be honest, I am running it on Fedora so it could be Fedora-only issues. Let's see if this update fixes those issues.

Quoting: liamdaweQuoting: sarmadHere is to hoping it's actually fixed and playable now. I bought this damn game more than a year ago when it was still in Early Access stage and for most of that year the game wasn't even playable on Linux. Didn't work at all at start, then they fixed it and it became playable, then shortly after regression came and it was unplayable, until now. Hopefully this time it's fixed for real.
I hope you reported all the issues you had.
