Left 4 Dead 2 Adds Native Steam Controller & Surround Sound Support On SteamOS

"I actually played Left 4 Dead 2 to death"

I got 1,400 hours in L4D2, and play it with some nice folks who also passed 1,000 hours. One of them have more than 4,000 hours. So we think it is a nice game...

Surround sound. Great to hear that they are still working on it. Its a shame that so many ports do not bother to implement this important feature (I am looking at you Aspyr). But stay away from using optical connection with you surround sound system in Linux. Things are a mess right now and some home theaters will add lag to the audio.

And lets hope that Valve will implement a better gamepad control scheme for their games, because using separate buttons to reload and open doors in a modern game is ridiculous.

Alien: Isolation Released For Linux, Prepare Your Spare Pants, Port Report, Review & Sale

So, witch version of OpenGL it needs? Another Feral ports need 4.3, but if this only need 4.0 or 4.1 it should be playable with AMD OSS drivers.

Also, I already have this game from a Bundle when I bought my Sapphire R9 290. If I buy the Season Pass in Steam, in Linux, Feral should get their share, right?

MegaSphere, An Action Platformer With Gorgeous Art In Early Access

If the game is in the same state of the demo, you better wait a fell months.

Gamepads work, but is still poor optimized. This is a game made with keyboard and mouse in mind, and gamepad compatibility is a afterthought. You move with one stick and aim with another, so to jump you need to use your index fingers, but the developer make you use the top buttons, not the triggers... Yes, you can shoot with the right trigger, but why not jump with the left trigger?

And still is another 2D platform, poor optimized, very simple Unity game, too heavy to play at 1080p without a discreet GPU.

And to finish, is still not a Steam Big Picture friendly, it shows a popup menu when you launch, that need a mouse to click.

So it has much potential, but still is in the very early stages of it development. Better wait to the final release. It does not have a "Assault Android Cactus" early access quality.

Retro Flight Simulators Under The 'Falcon Collection' Now On GOG For Linux
23 October 2015 at 9:13 pm UTC

Falcon 4 has probably the most dedicated user base, with mods that put some "professional" developers to shame.

But is really old, the cockpit view is still 2D and you need some big mods to bring it to modern standards. And the learning curve is too steep to the casual sim player like me.

The flight simulators with most balanced characteristics, the Third Wire ones, have been abandoned by its developer, witch is now focusing on the more lucrative (mind you) Android/iOS markets. They had done some weird design decisions, like keeping multiplayer, air-refueling and ground rearmament out of witch is otherwise a very pleasant sim to fly.

Is good to rear that GoG is working in flight simulators. I will look for the day they launch the most complete flight sim I ever played: Super EF2000.

Broforce Is Now On Linux, It’s Insane & Totally Hilarious, I’m In Love A Little Bit

So, let me get this straight: 2 days ago they didn't even have a computer with Linux running, now the game is ready?

Trine 3: The Artifacts Of Power Linux Beta Released

For the Xbox One gamepad, I (re)discovered that if you start the game in Big Picture mode, the games recognizes it as a generic gamepad and works 100%.

This makes it work in titles that didn't work with it before, like the Aspyr ports (Borderlands, Geometry Wars 3), Super Meat Boy and (after the Unity 5 upgrade) Assault Android Cactus.

Sales Statistics From Super Win the Game, All Platforms Did Badly

I played You Have to Win the Game (the free version) and NEON STRUCT (demo) form this developer, and I think his games are pretty solid, bug free software. Impressive that they are made by one single developer.

But they are also a one man show, so very simple games. YHtWtG is one of the most hardcore, difficult games I have played, leaving both Super Meat Boy and They Bled Pixels behind. Still a good, enjoyable game.

So is not a surprise that the sales figures are low. You have to remember that the majority of the people playing games stink, so a "easy" mode have to be provided, or you risk the loss of a lot of sales.

Assault Android Cactus Full Release, Some Thoughts On This Action Packed Shooter

The game is great, but the multiplayer is messy if your friends are not seasoned AAC players, because they will have difficult understanding whats happening in the screen, because all the bullets flying around.

Actually is impressive when you see your PC managing 60 fps with so many enemies and bullets flying around.

The only bugs I found is that you need the lame analog calibration before playing. And the XBox One joypad is not working after the Unity 5 update. But the Xbox 360 and the Logitech F710 (awful triggers) are ok. And the mouse pointer is visible when you are using a gamepad.

Don't Count On Any EA Frostbite Powered Games On Linux

There is some things I want from EA, like the Crysis series and Mirror's Edge. But for most of you, THIS is why I want they showing up in Linux:

Like it or not, EA is a giant in this industry, and will be very difficult see most people moving from Windows without EA and Ubisoft at our side too.

Twin Stick Shooter Assault Android Cactus To Be Released Sept 23rd, Plus Some Early Access Reflections

I purchased it in the early access 2 years ago. The reason people say it is THE example of a Early Access done right is because it was solid build since the beginning. No major bugs (aside some joypads not working), gameplay done right from the start, very polished for a alpha build. Only adding content until the game is completed.

If you like shooters, bullet hell or just a good game to play, buy it. Even if you can't complete it I guarantee you will enjoy it.

Is a indie game done right.
