I tried 2.20 and 2.0.1 if I recall. It crashes as soon as you get to the login screen, and yes it is due to the update Blizzard released recently, not a Wine regression. You now have to run it with windows7 or later.

Wonder if it works with Diablo 3. So, my friend finally convinced me to play it.. and then it stopped working in Wine.
I suppose they broke it when they updated it to drop support for XP. Unfortunately it runs worse in Windows 10 than it did in Linux with Wine.

I love 2D racers, one of my favorite Atari Jaguar gamesis Power Drive Rally.
With the small amount of numbers sold, why wouldn't they just pot it? The amount of people to buy it short term would be more than zero, and longer term it might be a bigger number, assuming it is a good game and gets good reviews.
I will show my support for a Linux port. Depending on the engine they use, it could be a click of a button and they get free money.

Ha, there is thebug for me whereit picksa seemingly random monitor, then I launch a game which goes to a different monitor, then when i exit the game, BPM is minimized with Gnome popping up a "Steam is Ready" notification up top.

Quoting: cprnPersonally I always run Steam in Big Picture, therefore avoid all the fuzz with lack of scaling, but I have to run it in window mode - otherwise it stays on top and full screen games start in the background. I don't run any DE, though, just i3wm.

It isn't just Steam. I currently use two Qt based programs, Quassel and HipChat. Both have to be killed first before Gnome will strt the power off. I hadn't noticed that Steam does it to. But ueah, first click of power off / reset will kill both of them, second tolim reboots / shuts down the system.

Quoting: CreakQuoting: AimelaThat's pretty much because the issue doesn't affect everyone, and seems to vary by DE; I encountered the issue while using Cinnamon(and judging by other comments, this will also occur with GNOME), but everything is fine in KDE Plasma. Regardless, I'm pretty sure this is something that Valve needs to fix.If it's a bug for GNOME and every GNOME related DE, that's pretty much the majority I think.
There's around 50/50 GNOME vs KDE, and the others DEs are mostly derived from GNOME/GTK.
Edit: you can look at the GoL statistics: https://www.gamingonlinux.com/users/statistics

Vendetta - Curse of Raven's Cry is to get a new patch, but not for Linux

So Sunday... I get an email saying "Only 3 days left: Vendetta - Curse of Raven's Cry Steelbook and Treasure Chest with loyalty discounts - Available for Pre-Order"
Today I get the same thing... Not sure if they forgot how to count..
Anyhow, looks like it releases on the 9th, and I can get 25% off the Steelbook version, or 10% off on the Treasure Chest one. I thought I already had the game, but apparently I do not.
Looks like t his is one to make a pass on. Case, map, etc looks cool though.

On the subjct of the rerelease / port of KOTOR II, didn't they add in a bunch of mods and fix the story that Obsidian had planned but had to be cut due to the publisher wanting it out? I read some article about it. So to be fair, the GoG version who'll be the broken crappy version. While I agree, DRM is dumb, one would think after a certain shelf life, developers would patch out out more often.
There have been quite a few that do. I think I there is even a list on Steam of DRM free games, though yes, Steam itself is a type of DRM.

So what we should do is request to modes.
1) Scientific accuracy so the world can pactice colonizing mars via a simulation.
2) Matian Dreams style (Worlds of Ultima), where the old astronomers thought there were rivers and they could fly there in a rocket ship. Like something from H.G. Wells or Jules Verne.

Always good to be educated to reality, but has now ruined the whole premise for that story. :p. But the article did bring up that the storms are strong enough to pick up the dust and spread it literally over the entire globe.
To be fair to the game, aren't the flags being blown from air turbines below to most likely recirculate air from the colony? I ant to play this game, that is for sure. Hopefully they can make it as scienific as possible.

Quoting: Purple Library GuyQuoting: tuubiDunno if slaapliedje did, but I did.Quoting: slaapliedjeOn that note, I was trying to figure out how you'd even have 100 mile per hour winds... if there was too thin of an atmosphere to properly have winds? I'm pretty sure there are large dust storms on Mars, but are they more in the upper atmosphere? I recall the first pictures before we'd landed anything on there was always showing that it had nasty weather patterns, and giant dust filled hurricanes. But it seems all the rovers aren't seeing that, except for maybe some sand dunes on the edge of craters. You might find this interesting.
Spoiler: It's the first Google hit for "Mars storms".
So, the winds only get to 60 mph and the atmosphere is 1% as thick. I think that's not quite as wimpy as it seems at first glance; if I foggily recall my grade 11 physics, the energy would vary with the square of the velocity. So like, to have as much impact as a full-atmosphere wind of speed X, a 1% atmosphere would have to be at velocity 10X cuz 10 squared = 100. Soooo, if I'm not getting this all totally mangled, a 60 mph wind on mars would have the pushing power of a 6 mph breeze on earth.
Still not exactly capable of threatening to push over a rocket and stranding a certain astronaut, though.

Yeah, I think they basically have a publishing / porting contract that states what they can do with the port. Ripping out the DRM and throwing it up on GOG could simply be stated to not being wanted 'at this time', or 'don't do it for X' months.
Kind of like Bethesda's Doom, where they had that crap (denovo?) DRM on it for the first few months until someone cracked it, then they removed it from the official game. That's the best some publishers can hope for / do. I mean really, I understand to a point them trying to protect their investment, but realistically once someone's broken the copy protection, they may as well remove it for legitimate buyers. Though I wonder if there are some out there that are like "DRM? I'll pirate rather than have that crap mess up my system!" Then when the game removes the DRM, "Hey, I'll buy it now." I doubt there are a lot like that, but maybe?
