The Witcher 3 didn't come to Linux likely as a result of the user-backlash from The Witcher 2
8 September 2017 at 12:59 am UTC

I don't know. If you think of it from the point of view of it NOT being a port and being an original game. If someone released a game that was 'complete' not labeled as an alpha or a beta, the people who were looking forward to it and purchased it only to have the performance be complete crap, and the stability being poor. Everyone would EXPECT the users to be pretty pissed off.

This is the same thing with Witcher 2. Do you expect any console gamer to be understanding and wait for their new game to be patched to work? Hell no. For some weird reason we've come to expect that a game is going to be a buggy pile of crap when it's released to us, so we just accept it and wait for a patch.

Or even worse, we buy it... then a week after it's released they announce that they're going to release some DLC, and a good portion of us decide we'll wait for that to come out before playing through.. and then the cycle continues when the next DLC comes out...

While yes you can't justify telling the developer/porter to go shoot themselves in the face because they're terrible people, that's just dumb. But you can tell them 'fix your shit please.'

We have a bunch of "Wild Terra Online" keys to give away (all gone!)

I think this is the second time I missed a free key for this.

Is this similar to Ultima Online (looks like it).

Well as a game collector I accidentally got My Ex-Boyfriend the Space Tyrant without me knowing and I was using ASF Bot to get the steam cards but friends can see my activity which games I am playing. After a while a friend msg "I didnt know that you like gay stuff".... I was like......... "EEHhHhHH? WTF???? :O

Well thats the price that all game collectors have to pay in order to grab all the games...

Not sure if this post got so many likes because you're a girl who games, or that you have an ex-boyfriend and are single...

But is it this Space Tyrant you're talking about? http://store.steampowered.com/app/562230/Space_Tyrant/ Not sure what's 'gay' about it...

Maybe I'm just confused 'cause it' almost 5am here and I can't sleep... when you have insomnia everything is a copy of a copy of a copy....

I don't really have an issue with sexuality in video games. Hell I loved the Leisure Suit Larry games. I think I'm just not a big fan of Anime, even though I think I have most of these games either because I already got them really cheaply, or they were in other bundles. Can't recall where I got Hunie Pop, but I know I have it and Sakura Dungeon. I'll probably buy this bundle just because I'm a terrible video game hoarder and it's for charity, right?

Yeah, that bundle.. only thing I think I'd play is Sakura Dungeon. Well, I'm sure they'll be able to sale a lot of them.

You know, I thought the same thing a while back, it LOOKS like a Shining in the Darkness style game with a bit more cleavage than it. But... I just couldn't play it. Basically instead of slimes, or evil orks or whatever, there were 'Bunnies' and not the all furry kind that like to hump. Well okay, they do like to hump apparently, but aren't 100% covered in fur....

I think it was the whole 'Beating them into submission' that got to me, or the fact that the voices were shrill and terrible. And while I understand that's considered 'hot' for some odd reason for most Anime... yeah that's one I shouldn't have bought.

Worse part is, since I bought it on Steam, for a VERY long time that's all I'd see in recommended lists.... the Sakura games..

I should really go through my stack of disks and see if I can find my Dungeon Master save disk where I completed the game so I can then import them into Chaos Strikes Back. It is a crying shame that not many CRPGs allowed this.

Immortal Redneck patched to increase performance, add Polish language and more

Quoting: scaineReally enjoying this one - I got it yesterday when I noticed that the GOL livestream was going to feature it and I couldn't believe I'd missed an FPS for Linux!

It's like a 3D Rogue Legacy. And if you read that sentence without immediately wanting to buy this game, you have no soul.

I wondered if I bought this already because it said something to that effect somewhere. Unfortunately when I tried to launch it... well it didn't launch. So for it to have a patch to fix perfomance, hopefully it performs at all, and it is a good patch for me!

The problem has always been the chicken/egg issue. To get more games on a platform you need more games, and no one wants to make games if there are no gamers.

But in this day and age where we get a new game being released for AmigaOS due to kickstarter (Tower 57), why on earth can't we get Linux ports? The two biggest game making engines out there now both support it. Oddly they both support VR development as well.

I think oddly the thing that is preventing more publishers from releasing Linux games could be more about support vs profit. With stiries that some have gotten much more support requests from Linux users. Though to be fair I think it is mostly due to most Linux users A) are willing to report bugs, B) are better at troubleshooting and C) are used to more stable software, whereas Windows users are used to shit crashing.

I still want a VR version of Dungeon Master....

This looks awesome. I am glad the grid based dungeon crawlers are making a comeback. I just wish some would bring Alternate Reality up to date and finish it...
