Damn, good ol' Broadsides, I'm pretty sure you could maneuver around and ram your opponent. I should play it again.
Rusted Warfare, a 2D RTS that reminds me of Total Annihilation & Red Alert is now on Linux

I was thinking Dune 2 as well, and this reminds me, I need to try out Dune 2 on my Atari Falcon.

Quoting: TiedemannI must try this. I can't stand the LoL type RTS stuff :P
The landing pad thingy reminds me of Dune and some units looks like upgraded Red Alert/C&C.

Well, I installed it in Linux, tried to run it and then it complained about missing executable of WalkingDead101.exe
Looking at the files, there are mostly just a bunch of .txt files, oddly a bunch of 102-106, but no 101...
Maybe I tried installing it once and now it's marked that I can install it always?

Personally I never really liked the ones that did like an apt:// uri, never seemed to work quite right. Though since flatpak should be a universal thing, that might be pretty nice.
Something like Mame would be a good one on there too. Anything that tends to be outside of standard distros, or gets updated quite rapidly have a decent place there.
Would be even cool to maybe do full on gnome from there, though purging out all the packaged stuff in a distro could be fairly problematic. That and you may as well use something like Arch at that point :P

Whoa, this does look awesome.
I have been waiting a LONG time for a modern day version of Broderbund's Broadsides. Absolutely loved that game on the Atari 8-bit. Not sure how the combat on this one is though. That one was (if I recall) real time, but you built up your custom ship with cannons, sales, hull, etc. Kind of like a Car Wars / Autoduel game but with boats. If you weighed yourself down with too many cannons, you couldn't turn as fast, etc.
Then when you fired, you could aim at sails, hull, people.. and you could do boarding parties, where you had to sword fight.
I don't think it really had much beyond that, but loved playing it. I think it'd be phenomenal to come out with a new one.

This game is great, just played it a for a few hours. If there is an editor, does that mean someone will add in the other Wonder Boy games? I always thought it odd this series faded away for so long.
Can't help but have this song stuck in my head now...

Speaking of songs, I actually like the retro music better.

I think the only telltale game that shows the SteamOS icon is the first Walking Dead one, right? I think from one sale or another I probably already have all of them, but I've only played a little of the first one.
Looks like STAR WARS: Rebel Assault I + II will get their DOSBox versions for Linux on Steam

Awesome! There are several 'engines' for older games I'd love to see finished with a Linux version, like DarkXL (which supports Dark Forces and I think eventually they intended to support Daggerfal.)
Updating to Unity is fantastic though.

Quoting: MagicMythQuoting: slaapliedje[...]I wish we'd get a proper port of the Windows versions of X-Wing, since they have slightly nicer graphics.
Have you heard of XWVM? Its a new Unity based engine for the original X-Wing Simulator game. They've mentioned they intend to support Linux. I've been meaning to poke GOL to do a post on it.

Is this getting support from GDW (I think that's who still owns the White Wolf / Worlds of Darkness stuff). Or is this just a different setting that is similar (like how Underworld more or less ripped it off...)
