Quoting: kaimanMight as well go first. 504.1 hours, says Steam. That's from playing the "tutorial" campaign, an early start in India, and halfway through an early start in Germany. And a weekend of multiplayer.
I really should try the Tutorial, I kept trying to find the time to start playing CKII, but could just never finish watching huge videos on 'how to play' then III came out... one of these days!
I bounced off the start of CK II back in the day. I was coming along great, I guess in what passed for a tutorial . . . anyway, I'd arranged a decent marriage with someone eligible who appeared to complement my attributes nicely, started developing my fief and building the army a little, then there was a peasant revolt or something and I . . . flat out could not figure out how to make the controls tell my forces to go where the fight was and fight. And that was that.
Damn peasants! Always the fall of a great and mighty king!

Canonical give some thoughts on the future of Ubuntu Desktop

Quoting: CyborgZetaRegardless of my mixed opinions on Canonical/Ubuntu, I will continue sticking with Kubuntu as my distro of choice. It just works well for me, and I've gotten very comfortable using it. I tried switching to Debian w/KDE, but I found I had to do a lot more setup/work to get it where I wanted. K(U)buntu just installs or sets up a lot of things on its own that I needed to do on Debian; like detecting my printer OOTB.

And in case someone asks, "Who still uses a printer?", well I often need to print shipping labels for myself; and sometimes a document along with it.
I was temporarily saddened that my printer wasn't working, realized I was on the wrong network at my house (yeah I have a bunch of segregation), switched to the correct wifi and it literally just popped up and was available and working (Running KDE on Debian Stable). Granted I also have an HP Officejet all in one thingy. This is very in contrast with macOS and Windows for sure.

GuliKit reveal SNES styled dock for Steam Deck and other handhelds

Quoting: shadow1w2Four USB ports in front would be nice even if it had to reroute a USB port in the back for it.
Two back USB ports would be enough perhaps.
As much as I have nostalgia in the SNES I would like to see a Sega Genesis/Sega CD/Saturn styled one some day.

I suspect the price will be a bit high though so can't say I'd impulse buy one but if it's compact enough I could find it useful in travel.
Tower of Power version!

Daggerfall Unity adds exclusive in-game books by the original lead designer

Quoting: GroganDaggerfall... that was the huge (unprecedented at the time) procedurally generated one, wasn't it?

I'm not sure I'd play it now (I still haven't gotten that far in OpenMW morrowind) but that would have been highly impressive in its day.
Right, the way they generated the dungeons was with chunks, so you'd start to get sort of used to seeing the same set up of steps, halls, etc after a while, but then you could also very easily get lost in the massive dungeons. First spells to learn are 'mark' and 'recall' so you can just hop to the beginning!

Quoting: slaapliedjeWould be nice if either Gog or Steam could release that bundle with all the extensions and such for easier install in Linux.
That would be the best. In the meantime we can use Luxtorpeda for really easy installation if we own it on Steam.
Anyone try this out on the Steam Deck?

Quoting: slaapliedjeFunny enough, the PCB was the same size, but the heat sink just hung off of it about 4 inches further. It came with a bracket to stabilize it better... GPUs are just getting silly in size.
Congrats for switching to AMD.

I went for even bigger 7900 XTX and Sapphire Nitro+ model for it is especially huge. But the upside is that it's really silent and runs relatively cool even under heavy load. So massive heat sink is useful.
Mine is the XFX 7900XT Ultra. Working with Amazon right now (2nd attempt) to see if I can get that tasty Starfield code so I don't have to buy the premium version of that haha.

Quoting: LoftyHonestly AAA gaming is pretty much dead to me right now, it's not the Size of the games, the lacklustre optimisation, the exorbitant pricing models on unfinished releases with DLC being used as a patch, or the not actually owning it, or even the DRM anti-cheat spyware.. let alone the way these companies treat their staff. It's actually because most (not all) of these games frankly suck.
I agree. I'm looking into building a new rig soon and I was looking for a recent game to benchmark the whole stuff. Turns out there's no interesting title for me that's less than 2-3 years old. I'd want to try Cyberpunk 2077 now that it's less bug-heavy but turns out it's still 60 bucks and with the upcoming extension being quite pricey as well, I guess it's a no-go for me.
I slapped a 7900XT in my system after pulling out my 3080 RTX. Instantly enjoyed having just normal desktop stuff run smoother. Randomly(not really) Wayland started working in Debian as well. So, if you're currently running an nvidia card, upgrading just for some bug fixes in software and smoother desktop usage, the upgrade is worth it! One problem I had with the upgrade though; the 7900XT was vastly larger than the 3080 RTX. Funny enough, the PCB was the same size, but the heat sink just hung off of it about 4 inches further. It came with a bracket to stabilize it better... GPUs are just getting silly in size.

What would be amazing is if someone could figure out a dock that could raid the microSD cards so we could get a large storage base! This is pretty cool looking for sure!
