Hard Reset Redux is not coming to Linux despite appearing in SteamDB

Ha, I have the exact same problem! Fortunately I only look at the Windows desktop long enough to launch Steam, then whatever game I'm planning on playing.

Quoting: HalifaxEvery once in a while I have to dual boot Windows due to buying the HTC Vive, and I have to admit, the new Hard Reset Redux is a damn good FPS experience. It's sad not more devs, or more titles, have Linux support (Shadow Warrior is a great Linux port - so the dev can do it).
I hate going back to the Windows desktop environment now, after being enlightened about all the creature comforts/options/functionality and niceties (privacy/autonomy/security/etc) Linux DE's and distros have to offer.
It's a sad fact most people are creatures of habit, and just accept the shit desktop they get with Windows 10 due to never knowing anything better.

So does exclusive to them only mean consoles? SteamOS technically isn't a console, it's an OS, now maybe if the Devs said 'we want this on Steam Machine!' there'd be issues?
Granted as a game publisher, Microsoft probably doesn't care, they get their share of the money anyhow, right? As long as those Sony jerks don't get anything.

Whoa, I actually have had my first post deleted in Steam ever.. at least that I'm aware of.
meraco, our favorite troll, was trolling through the Linux thread for Elite: Dangerous, and I simply said, "Hey Meraco, how's it going?" and both my message and his were removed. Granted I think I quoted it, so that's probably why.
Made me laugh though.

Qt saddens me because it reminds me of what could have been, namely a Nokia Linux phone with Qt and all of it's nice development tools. Instead we are stuck with shitty Android...
Anyhow, good to hear it is a good game, on the one hand though I already have it on steam, and I prefer to be able to play it from there instead of having an individual installer. I don't mind buying it again even (pretty sure I got it via humble bundle or on sale anyhow), just would rather have it be patched and installed with everything else.

Quoting: rkfgQuoting: slaapliedjeAlso yes, GTK2 should go away, unless someone's going to add wayland support to it, but that also means that some of the really old Loki game installers should be ported to GTK3.Well, why not use Qt instead? I used it quite a bit with C++ and it feels pretty good. Supports GTK themes as well so it also looks good. Qt's own themes don't appeal to me for some reason. It can be linked dynamically (under LGPL so it plays nicely with proprietary software) with a relatively small footprint of ~10 Mb by today's standards, I don't see any downsides.
As for the game, I completed it long ago on Windows and it was damn good. Gonna play it thoroughly again and then hopefully play Overlord 2 which ran like shit for me on Wine years ago. Expecting "more of the same" and that's a good thing.

Some thoughts; Are we sure the game isn't capped at 100fps? I mean if it never dips below that and never goes above it, my guess would be it's capped.
Also yes, GTK2 should go away, unless someone's going to add wayland support to it, but that also means that some of the really old Loki game installers should be ported to GTK3. Pretty sure most of them are at least semi-open source? Maybe not, though I thought at least the loki installer itself was open source. I only think of this because I recently bought Heavy Gear 2 for Linux :D

I think I only own this because of humble bundle. Haven't ever played it though 'cause I keep hearing it's a buggy mess, and after his comment, I figured why bother, he'd probably pull support.

How has Valve given up on SteamVR for SteamOS. From what I understand a full third of people at Valve are working on SteamVR. I see get constant updates on Linux for SteamVR (still doesn't actually do anything though).
I kind of funny that we have a list of a few games that haven't come out or are being canceled for Linux. I lived through the days of the Atari Jaguar, where there were a ton of incredibly potential games coming out for it, and then it just died. Some developers had taken Atari's money and ran. Some were left in almost complete states and then completed many years later.
So while I'm bummed that Mad Max hasn't made it's way to Linux yet (I've stopped playing it on Windows after finding out they decided to port it again... but then I think by the same publisher, tried Batman Arkham Knight earlier and couldn't even get it to recognize the steam controller or xbox 360 controller...)
I've got so many great games now to play under Linux, I don't know if I'd ever get around to playing Witcher 3 anyhow (I do have it already, but haven't even had time to beat the first Witcher)

Quoting: HalifaxWitcher 3 was the most disappointing for me. Both a really good AAA game I want to play, and a game that looked in the bag for a Linux port, for a while.
Valve giving up on SteamVR for SteamOS and pretty much giving up on SteamOS, at least for now, sure does seem like they decided to not power through and fix/try again after a poorly received Steam Machine release.
But, at least Valve has started things rolling for gaming on Linux, they are not taking away anything - the Linux client is still seeing regular patches - which I suppose of all of it, is the most important thing as a Linux gamer.
We have way more than we ever would have had before, and there are still games being ported for Linux. My only real thought is AAA titles will likely remain largely Windows only titles, if Valve never tries to make Steam Machines running SteamOS a more attractive option than they are today. Which certainly won't happen if Valve doesn't work on it.

Satellite Reign co-op mode now in the stable build, and the game is 50% off

This would be epic if it was local co-op / split screen. I don't think they've added that (yet?). My brother and I play a lot of local co-op using my Link, though there are definite issues with it (like delayed sound, that eventually dies out in Divinity: Original Sin Enhanced Edition).
I still recall staying up late at night (so late we got goofy) on Syndicate Wars, and we had found out somehow the cheat code, which is hilariously 'pooslice'. We giggled about that for months, and to this day if I say pooslice to him, he bursts out laughing.

Quoting: melkemindQuoting: MyeulCQuoteTo play co-op, simply select Multiplayer, and either load up your own existing save as a host, or join someone else as a clientIs it local or online co-op? It reads as online, but I would really like it to be local, and the screenshot looks like a local co-op game.
Of course, it would be great if it was both :)
It looks like it's online. It's a click-to-move real-time strategy, so I think it would be pretty difficult to do local co-op.
