Quoting: scaineAbsolutely love the look of this, but was a bit gutted that there's no Grim Dawn style multiplayer. Looks like it's going for roguelite rather than GD's RPG progression, but still. Ravenswatch pulls this off brilliantly, but they've gone all-in on single-player here and while I'm still interested, it's very much less so.

I guess I'm the opposite, where I actually prefer single player games more so than multiplayer games and No Rest for the Wicked seemed to be up my ally. However, the price is a bit much for me right now and will be waiting for a discount before I jump in to playing this game on the Steam Deck.
Ha, yeah, multiplayer is annoying anyhow. Sure it works great when you're a kid and you can cut out a lot more time for gaming. But as an adult, I have other things to do, and it's really hard when you have two different groups wanting you to play games...

I just finally broke down and got one with an NVME drive. Anyone aware of a controller one can use to 'wake it up' and/or go into the boot menu remotely? Would be awesome as a thing to dock into the TV for the dual boot to Batocera.

I never got around to playing anything after Myst. But I did beat Myst on the Atari JagCD. I played it a bit on the Amiga as well.

Quoting: fizdogI would love to switch to a linux distro geared towards gaming but things like this is holding me back. as little as i play fortnite, when i do its with my son and yeah. i'm already seeing people saying they want to switch to linux for what microcrap is doing with windows(whether the do or no is another question).

I'd recommend dual boot in this situation. Had that for many years, until I discovered I had used Windows only two times(*) in a full year in the end - and got rid of it.

I just bot back from a vacation, and every time I go on one, I try to pick the right devices to go along for whatever reason. This time, I brought the m1 macbook and iPad Pro. I took some pictures and wanted to see how good that Affinity Photo program a lot are talking about to get rid of Adobe products...

Well, getting the pictures off my Android phone onto the mac was just not working... I rebooted into Asahi Linux so I could then fetch them, because I couldn't get Android File Transfer to connect (I had in the past). MacDroid is another program that should have worked, but they wanted 20 dollars a year for that, something that should be built into the OS.

Point being; Apple is behind the times on any sort of interoperability with anything that isn't made by Apple. Windows is trying to turn all of their customers into data points, and Linux is just more compatible with gaming and devices than Apple devices are, not as creepy as what MS is heading toward...

I think what we need to do, as a community, is to help onboard these wayward people, and give them a safe port to park their boats!

Quoting: swizzlerWas excited to try this out with fallout 4 as I have been meaning to 100%, then downloaded and saw the notice that it only works with stardew valley, no wonder they're having trouble finding playtesters for feedback.
Haha, I did the same thing. Though was wondering if it was better at r2modman for Valheim yet.

Indeed, that suggests that if one resists to the hype of the moment, it would enjoy games at very low prices, hardware at very low prices, games fixed from release bugs, and the more you wait, the less the probability the game will be removed.
This is what I do lately, and it feels good and right.

Yeah, it means less 'online' gaming, but who cares.
Indeed..... I am in the same boat as you....... If you have ever seen the Weekend Players Club threads on the forum here...... You would see that I mostly play emulated games on my 8 year old PC.......

I have very..... VERY little interest in modern gaming..... So missing out on shiny new games really doesnt worry me....... The big worry though for me is that IF I get interested in playing current day games in 10....... 15+ years time....... Will they still be on sale???....... Or would the window have been closed forever???.....

Digital stores were meant to make the buying window longer (Ideally until the game no longer worked on new operating systems/hardware)....... But we are seeing more and more and more games getting removed from digital stores far earlier than they really should........

And hell even if I did buy the games when they were available...... Will they take have taken them off me by then...... Could this be the new FOMO???....... Play now or miss out..... FOREVER.......
Ha, I wonder how much of FOMO is what has caused the 'retro' scene to explode. "OMG, you never played Ultima? It's SO good!"

I guess the real question is, how does it compare to r2modman?

This please! There are much better cross platform toolkits. Electron is trash. The only app I've seen that uses it well is Discord.
