By the way, I just played it for a few hours, seems to run okay. Not the best performance I've seen, but it's very playable (granted I do have a 3080).

I'm old enough to remember when Electronic Arts was a fantastic publisher, and you knew when you saw the logo popped up, you knew it was going to be an awesome game. It is sad that it's turned into a company that literally has been voted as the worse company on the planet multiple times...

Quoting: DesumWell, I'm feeling even better about my vow to never give a dime to Disney.
I mean this is worse, right? It's giving Electronic Arts money. I'm guessing (no clue how this actually works) but EA gives Disney money to use the Star Wars franchise, and then we give money to EA to pay for the game. If this is the case, we aren't actually giving Disney any money for this game, just Electronic Arts.

Quoting: denyasisYa know.... I was scrolling down and I happened to see an article about Last of Us getting performance updates and getting better.

It made me wonder.... If the game worked fine at launch, that article likely wouldn't be there... and it's a positive article (Improvements!)....

I kinda wonder if there is a bit of a marketing strategy to this. To keep the game in the news longer and generate more positive coverage. 1 bad release article vs multiple positive improvement articles?
What it comes down to is you have marketing departments that pick a date and say 'the game will come out, pre-order our stuff, we get bonuses!' And then the developers have to rage to the air, as they're put into a coding crunch in an attempt to release something that works correctly... which inevitably always fails.

This is also a reason why something like Early Access is so appealing to developers, they can get people to beta-test their stuff, while making money on the project, and continue development. All games at this point should probably just use the Early Access label, and then people can expect it'll be a buggy mess. Like Cyberpunk 2077 clearly only got out of EA a short while ago :P

CPU near %100
Are these normal or is the game compiling shaders in the background?
It secretly loads a full version of Windows into the background so that it can launch the game. :P

What a Naughty dev
Speaking of, someone on Steam recommended to another user to install Windows 10 on the Steam Deck to get Mortal Kombat Kollection to work on the Steam Deck. So I went ahead and replied with how to get it to work (hint, disable gfwl and it works perfectly fine).

POSTAL 2 got a surprise 20th anniversary update with Steam Deck support

Quoting: rcritToo bad the update is only available on Steam. I still have the CD lying around here somewhere. On the RWS website you can pick up the game for $2 so not a huge cost in any case.
I have the Fudge Pack, years ago they said they would give Steam keys to those that owned it. Maybe try emailing them?

LIVE A LIVE from Square Enix is Steam Deck Verified ahead of release

As some recent releases have shown, Verified before launch isn't necessarily a good thing... and as always, preorder at your own peril.
