WTF is this, LED lights are every tech student's first thing to try.
Oh wait, the LED lights are _under_ the dock you say? They even change colors? AND THE LENGTH OF THE BAR IS EXACTLY 11.567CM? What a rad new idea

Quoting: ForgeQuoting: ShabbyXDoes steam deck make it easy to switch accounts? If not, that would be my number one request. So me and my wife could share one deck without getting our games/progress/achievements mixed up (not that it matters much, but still nice to feel like it's your own user playing, not borrowing the other one's account)
The existing/launch Deck UI supports this brilliantly. You select your pfp in the top right, and one of the very last options is "change user". Once the second/third/etc users sign in, you get a quick select at boot/restart, and can choose to have a login pin.
Awesome thank!

Quoting: slaapliedjeQuoting: PompesdeskySeems no one said it yet, I'd like a battery charging limit so that I can play with the AC plugged in without the device charging the battery to 100% and leaving it there. When you're exclusively playing plugged in it's a waste of battery life (it would degrade less in the long run if we could set a charge limit at 50 or 70%).Pretty sure batteries no longer work that way.

Yes? Not the editor or the tools obviously, but there's a lot of engine code linked with the application code; resource management, renderer, animation, physics etc.

That would require unity's code itself to be GPL-compatible.I don't think so. The GPL license requires derivative code to be licensed under GPL, and obviously Unity is not derivative work, more like the opposite. It should be possible for you to write a GPL'd piece of code that plugs into a non-GPL system and still enforce all the requirements of GPL when it comes to your code. Obviously you cannot enforce them on the whole system.
Unity is not really a compiler, not even an interpreter. The application links against it. So no, this isn't the same as compiling with a proprietary compiler.

That said, I actually have doubts now if GPL code can link against a non-GPL library, if the library is independent of the GPL code.

VirtualBox 7.0 is out with their DirectX 11 support using DXVK
11 October 2022 at 1:13 pm UTC
Sounds like they implemented something new, but were shortsighted enough to do it in d3d. Otherwise, if they are just translating app d3d with dxvk now, wouldn't they say something like "optimized d3d support" or something similar?

Facepunch put out a fresh statement on Rust for Steam Deck / Linux

Just to be clear, I don't think they mean that Linux users are cheaters, just that cheaters (currently on Windows) would switch to Linux just to cheat better.
That said, bs argument for sure. I never touched this game, and I take your word for it that it's in a garbage situation.

Quoting: StevenGreetings!
Personally, I think what they are saying is a bit absured. I have over 4,000 hours in Rust and the cheating is as bad as ever. I feel like they believe they are doing a bang up job protecting the players of their game, but in reality, it's not true. They mention cheaters "runining weeks of work." It's that way now and, from a players stand point, little is done to really crack down on it. My personal experience has been horrible wiht cheaters, with over 30+ reports with hackers banned, their system (EAC) doesn't work. You can be "flyhacked" falling out of a mini climbing a tree branch, but not a cheater flying around the map. Happens everytime I play the game. So, no, I don't buy their argument. Let's use the usual logic that I often hear about Linux and gaming. It's touted the platform is too small to care about, so we don't develop for it. Now, the Rust team is saying that thought Linux cheating is almost nonexistent, we don't develop for it. Yet, we'll keep churning out for Windows even though they cannot get a handle on it. Makes little sense. I know there are differences, but look at the numbers. How many Linux Rusters are there? Very, very little. Enabling it to work with proton doesn't seem like much of a risk. EAC isn't that great to begin with in a game like Rust, so maybe it's time to really care for the gamer and find something else that will work the way it's supposed to, protecting the Window gamer and Linux gamer. Afterall, we don't have a thousand Comomos running around to catch everyone. Thanks for reading, this is just my opinion.

NVIDIA Vulkan Beta driver 515.49.19 is out now, driver 515.76 causing problems

For those of you that use proton, EDS3 is actually a significant extension once hooked up in dxvk (which I'm pretty sure would be done right away, if not already)
