According to a Stadia developer, streamers should be paying publishers and it backfired

The second one, like how raido stations pay licensing to broadcast music, he wants streamers to pay a similar charge to be able to stream games.
Lets ignore the fact that multiple big publishers/developers have blanket statements on their websites allowing for streaming / lets plays of their games. The way he was tweeting was from as if it was a giant grey area that hadnt been addressed, yet as I Tweeted to him companies have already granted streamers the permission to do this without any license.
Thats not to say a publisher in the future could change their position and want some sort of license deal, but I can imagine that would be a PR nightmare.

Quoting: LinasI am not sure I understand it correctly. Is he implying that the streamers did not pay for the game they are streaming? As in piracy? Or does he want people to pay extra to be able to stream?

Quoting: KonUno Calculator has added telemetry not present in the Microsoft source code. That's a plenty good reason not to use it.

I expect part of the reason though is not so much the work it would take to make a non stadia linux version, but rather the added support overhead. With Stadia there is only a single target platform and any support issues would be borne by google. Whereas with mainstream linux distros there are innumeral variations of hardware and software and the companies may not want that extra support overhead for a minimal playerbase.
Still its such a shame they wont do this little extra.

Quoting: TheSHEEEPQuoting: Liam DaweIt frustrates me somewhat that this is true, but somehow doesn't seem to lead to more Linux releases of titles supporting Stadia.Quoting: LinasDo we have any details on how they make these Windows-only DirectX 12 games work on Stadia? I mean, is it actually running on Linux? [Conspiracy theory intensifies]Stadia is Linux, Debian Linux, just running in the cloud. Games need to run on Linux + Vulkan to work on Stadia. Games are ported to Stadia, just like they are for any other platform.
It should be such a small step from Stadia to generic Linux release, shouldn't it?

If you find the research rate to slow, then you can increase the research speed in new game setup; cant remeber the exact name but one of the many sliders will increase/decrease the tech rate.

Quoting: NagezahnI suspected it'll be on sale when I read the post about the new update. But didn't suspect it'll be free to try, so I went ahead and downloaded it. It's quite overwhelming when you start it. After a while when I got a bit accustomed to it I guess it's nice, but mostly two factors impact my enjoyment negatively: the overall slowness (research takes forever when compared to Master of Orion, for example) and the game not being turn based. Had this on my wishlist since it was released, but I'm sceptical I'd like it enough in the long term. :|
