NVIDIA have a new Vulkan Beta Driver out for Linux - helping DOOM Eternal on Steam Play
2 April 2020 at 1:06 am UTC

I was able to purge nvidia drivers through apt, and install manually. Also able to keep prime-select to enable gpu offload and power savings, so that's good.

I was kind of hoping this driver might have an impact on Wreckfest performance, and it looks like it definitely did - so the D:E fix might have an impact on other games too.

Why do so many laptop photos have the laptop screen flat back like that? I don't understand the purpose.

Quoting: Purple Library GuyLooking at that prototype . . . OK, so on a normal keyboard the spacebar is too long, I'll buy that up to a point. But, maybe my eyes are getting old here, on that prototype I can't see a spacebar at all, which isn't really an improvement. Like, down where the spacebar would be I'm seeing alt, shift, backspace, ctrl. So is one or more of those blue and orange things supposed to be "space"? I don't want to be hitting "space" with my pinky!
Also not sure if I'm seeing an "enter" key.
Still, I'll be interested to see a later prototype.

No, those two split keys where space was are meant to be assignable - so maybe you want backspace on the left and space on the right of the split (as opposed to what they are labelled as.

I think they will need to try and poll everyone for a reasonable layout to pick out what keys would be what, and offer a set of keycaps so they can be labelled.

Quoting: Cyba.CowboyIt's be too late to put this in the upcoming Ubuntu 20.04 LTS ("Focal Fossa"), right?

Do you reckon they'll provide an update to this version of GNOME in the near future, for users of Ubuntu 20.04 LTS ("Focal Fossa")? Some of that new functionality looks mighty handy...

If you install a 20.04 Ubuntu ISO right now, you'll have 3.35.91 or higher (beta release) with 3.36 due in the next week or so. I have 20.04 installed right now, and wow, it's a game changer.

It's fine to voice criticism, but don't be a twat about it, yeah?

Heck yes! I look forward to having a small cube PC which is almost all mini-ITX mobo and a heatsink. Though it's more likely to look like a shoebox with the power supply included.
