They don't mean the whole thing will look like a block of wood. It's just the front panel (you can see it in the article pic).
I am so seriously excited for this.

Quoting: TheRiddickI thought they had a full wood finish one coming? guess that was too expensive to do.
I do hope this console does well, would really love to see Atari make a comeback, thought I doubt this is going to be the killer app that does it for them.
EDIT: Apparently it will have a wood finish, interesting, wonder how that will be done.

Atari VCS enters the final stages of pre-production as it heads towards mass production

I'll be buying one on launch. Looks like the perfect little box for me.

Quoting: DragunovWill this thing hurry up and die already, this was a failure from the start. Didn't they learn anything from steam machines?, and at $389 I don't really think it is worth it. This is like a niche within a niche, how do they expect to make any money off of this?

Quoting: ShmerlQuoting: tuubiPlenty of TV sets with no DP inputs, but all of them have HDMI. I doubt this is such a no-go for most of their target audience.
That's due to HDMI cartel, not the reason to skip proper DP on any computer.

Steam Play Proton 4.11-9 is out with a few fixes, plus a new release of Proton GE

It is meant to be fixed in this version though. I've tried a handful of games so far and FFB is good.

Quoting: XpanderQuoting: Luke_NukemWhy do you need the tool for Dirt Rally 2.0? I've got the same wheel, and was thinking about grabbing the game.
Like @Werner already said, proton and FFB is a nasty business. Wheel itself works but you need it for FFB and without FFB its no point playing those games.
/home/xpander/Build_Projects/ffbtools-master/bin/ffbwrap --update-fix /dev/input/by-id/usb-Logitech_G920_Driving_Force_Racing_Wheel_for_Xbox_One_0000c58d7f6b6a4c-event-joystick -- %command%
This is the launch option i have to use to get FFB working in this game.

Quoting: XpanderForceFeedBack fix! Finally. The main problem with proton has always been the FFB support. I guess i still need my FFBtools from berarma for Dirt Rally 2.0 to work with my G920, but yeah 4.11 version broke FFB for Project Cars 2 completely and it worked somewhat with 4.2-9.

If you enable high-quality pause mode then press the "pause" button, it does a high-quality render of whatever the current scene on screen is. It looks incredible!

I can't wait! Can clearly see some inspiration from Quake and Doom in there too.

I desperately need a mod that adds plane sounds to the bird. Preferably vocalised.
