The supported cards are in fact TESTED, AMD have a wording problem there.

The driver has been tested on 390 cards and 7700 HD cards already, so it works on MANY others. AMD just can't be fcked testing them.

Vulkan support for Dota 2 to come next week

Given that DX12 doesn't run on MacOS either, I doubt Vulkan not being there will hurt it what so ever. As time goes on Mac will see less games releases, and Apple will need to PAY developers to use their Metal API as its just not going to be worth it for new releases.

Maybe we will see games having late releases on Mac, If Metal API worked on Windows and Linux and Android then we could talk about it more. But nope, Apple has SHOT themselves in the foot with this one, they just don't know it yet!

First Steps with OpenVR and the Vive on Linux

WarThunder supports VR, give that a go (only really viable in simulations mode, which is like 15 out of 10 on the hardometer)...

AMD Polaris graphics cards are starting to sound pretty amazing

1080 makes most its performance gains in VR, double in fact. Allot of people were expecting double 980Ti performance, yeah no.

Anyway its the card I will get because of 4k and Linux drivers, been riding on my 390x for a long while and I don't see drivers doubling performance any time soon. Allot of NVIDIA users here who switch to the Polaris and expect decent Linux performance are going to be in for some tears... Take it from someone who has experience ;-) (me)

Yes good news for laptops and low power usage consumers. However 5.5TFOPS is almost half of what the 1080 card will offer, so be aware of that. (performance per watt, I think NVIDIA win in that respect, but at 180TDP)

Also even tho the Linux drivers are getting better under Linux, they still have a long way to go. I use WARTHUNDER for my testing, when that game is playable at 50-60fps at 4k with AMD hardware, I will be excited. (ATM it can only achieve that with everything turned off, it looks like Mario 64)

There is a 1440p and 4k scaling mod on the workshop now (be sure to get the menu fix also). You do need to edit the settings.txt to get it to work correctly. Better then nothing.

I have finally found a way to sort out screen tearing on Nvidia with Linux

I tried to use Mutter on my 390x, causes the screen to wobble uncontrollably. Went back to Compton with GPU Acceleration, problem went away.

I remember having a issue with tearing with my 980GTX when I had it, when enabling vsync it would murder the FPS. This will come in handy if I get a 1080 card later next month. Hopefully I can keep most games at 4k resolutions.

Honestly NVIDIA should really integrate all these functions into their control panel and not force people to fiddle around with scripts and config files...

No 4k UI support? yikes, I haven't had the chance to try the game but that needs to be fixed.
