Syncing up engine versions between platforms is a nightmare apparently for developers. I see this problem cropping up continuously with games that release for Linux and Windows or MacOS and Windows etc...

At this point it's obvious Valve is deliberately avoiding the AU/NZ market.
They have lost some legal battles here so perhaps they are salty over that still...

No because I can't be bothered testing wayland when it still has the RTX Primary display 75hz+ login crash entire system dead bug. (you can bypass it, but cbf)

Yeah it has got to a point where NVIDIA is dragging behind now for sure.
I think Intel will adopt this quite fast given its MESA driver support is coming along.
Certainly as a 4090 owner, I do feel some buyers remorse given my card has a major bug under Wayland atm that hinders WL testing/usage. It's made worse by NVIDIA just ignoring the issue(s) while AMD Open drivers continue to get weekly fixes...

OLED is getting kinda silly cheap these days. Hopefully they can figure something out for SD2.

Not how I'd describe a LCD TN panel if that is what SD use.
Basically once you've used OLED, you'll never turn back. I find it VERY hard to touch my VR Pico-4 because it's clearly using some cheap LCD and the blacks are all grey. (less noticeable on handheld however)

Well -forcedesktopscaling #.# does work now but the UI is a bit slow and wonky with mouse click zones.
The splash and login screen can often cut off part of whats being displayed since they are sized for the original tiny DPI.
Oh and yes I believe it has crashed X11 on me a few times. Normally when shutting steam down while doing something or something... whatever. Progress is progress I guess.

I'd be happy with just a plain old 800p oled given the hardware is likely not going to be ideal at 1200p anyway so your going to be using FSR a lot.
Even for the Z1 Max chip I'd say 1080p is just fine for handheld of that performance (again OLED)
