Hopefully this doesn't disturb Space Marine 2 release date or quality... Fingers crossed for that one.

Valve COO on Epic's Tim Sweeney "you mad bro?" when launching the Epic Store

Maybe if Epic put more effort into their store to be feature parity with Valve's, they get less flak. Such as all the features like proton and other platform support, some modding features or workshop...

There is a lot they can do, but for some reason Epic thinks doing the bare minimal will convince people to switch from Steam... odd

Steam Deck support is now on the roadmap for Enshrouded

Their roadmap looks very impressive. I will however continue waiting until they hit at least 70% of that stuff before returning to game.

I don't like burning myself out on a early access yet complete game and then running out of interest by the time its finished because I overdid it.

nvidia_modeset.hdmi_deepcolor=1 in kernel boot options if you want to try HDR out on NVIDIA. Seems to work on my 4090 so far. You can enable it without that setting but chaos happens after next login in my testing.

Yet to see what's required for steam and proton to see hdr. Maybe needs gamescope I dunno.

Quoting: maddovrAre you sure you're getting 10-bit and 4:4:4 subsampling?

I don't have the card. I just checked under WAYLAND when I did and the display information app which I've forgotten the name of, said 10-bit colorspace!

Quoting: Marlockwhat does hdmi 2.1 do that hdmi 2.0 doesn't?

For the most part HDMI2.1 is 48Gbps bandwidth so can support higher hz with HDR and all that.

However HDMI2.0 with DSC can hit 4k 120hz 10bit just fine I believe.

When I had my 7900XTX, wayland was happy setting 4k 120hz and according to display data it was 10bit, so maybe also work with HDR?

Keep a eye on this one.

I'll be much more interested when they add in more enemy types of threats. I kind of wish a game like this existed but didn't focus too much on zombies.

Think a game like this, combined with the world system of Cataclysm, Dark Days Ahead... That would be amazing.

For those who played DDA, you know its not all about zombies. In fact zombies are just little annoyances in the gameworld where MUCH nastier enemies exist, even massive terminator robots :)

You know what they should do, add like 2 or 3 player coop, or 4 maybe? Obviously difficulty curve would need to adjust or be adjustable to suit this mode. Maybe give special abilities that are multiplayer only like being able to combined abilities with other players to get more effect.

I think all that above would bring people back to this game pretty strongly!

It's a real pita. And one of the reasons I had to go back to NVIDIA. I mean 4k120hz was fine with HDMI2.0 DSC I believe, but there are a lot of devices that just default to HDMI2.1 now and I aren't seeing ANY displayport alternatives on the market.

For example, capture cards, all high end, all HDMI2.1, DisplayPort 2.0 doesn't exist. Hell its hard to find a decent priced DP2.0 cable even. So on one hand open-standard is best, on the other, open-standard sucks when few support it! (for devices etc)

Like it or not, HDMI2.1 has massive backing and support. Corporations win! sadly...
