THQ Nordic now own Koch Media GmbH
14 February 2018 at 9:22 pm UTC

To add a little bit of a possible/assumed context within current spacetime continuum:

THQ Nordic has bought Koch Media/Deep Silver, where Deep Silver is currently acting as a publisher of Warhorse Studios, who have released the Kingdom Come: Deliverance game just about 24hrs ago (Feb 13th)...

The release is - so far - reported to be quite a huge success (for the current SteamDB numbers: please note the game covers more platforms that just Steam; it also covers PS4 and XB1).

So, is this just a coincidence?

Edit: Adding game release date for later reference.

For a DLC, this is too expensive :(
(whole games can be bought for this price...)

Phew... Just spent several hours in IM, and have to say it is better than it used to be :) (have not played it for around 1,5 years or so...)
Will definitely return!

Hi guys,

I have a spare copy of IM (for around 2 years now!) in my Steam inventory.
Since I do not have anything better to do with it, I will give it away as a Steam gift to the first person who raises a hand here ;)

Disclaimer: Steam account is required, since this is giftable against another steam account only.

Hey guys,
a long-time player and fan of IM!

If you feel this game migt be your cup'o'tea, try it! It is quite immersive, and quite a unique experience... Interesting environments/maps, changing weather - adding another tactical level on the battlefield, several different game modes, and challenging freaky survival mode with robots :) Also, coop survival modes for up to 4 players, which will make you s*it your pants, even if there are 4 of you covering your backs :)

Quoting: GuestI've always had high hopes for this game. I hope they can pull through and make it work. I think honestly they should drop the story and focus on multiplayer gameplay.
The mixed to bad reviews are not directly connected to the game quality itself, but people got tired and frustrated with things like slow development speed (dev team promised to add a lot, and due to various reasons did not add that much content and focused on bugfixing) and also - as it seems now - they have made a mistake by adding more multiplayer, whilst community expected huge and shark-moster-filled-in-space-slaugter-epyc single player campaign (which was promised from the beginning but was never fully realized/delivered).
Thus community got frustrated (this took a year or two, though), dev team lost the community support, bad reviews starting piling up and in the end, they run our of money before they could deliver some of the more advanced game-mechanics (hunting for loot, weapons, ammo, health) and before they could create more of the "real" content - the big story, and landsharks, which community was waiting for....

Meh - I'm going to start it up now!

Quoting: delebreDo you have any knowledge / update about the Cherryh update? I'm itching to try it.
I think I read somewhere it's on 20.1 when they next talk about it. I can't remember where I saw that. 9 days to go. xD

Nope, not really. Cherryh update will come out at the same time as Apocalypse DLC, but not known when this will be released. Could be next week (unlikely), but can happen in like several weeks/1 to 2 months (likely).

Quoting: MalDangerous. The apocalypse release is quite a breaking change since it removes all free travel FTLs.

Note: It is not the buyable DLC what changes the main gameplay in the upcoming update. It is the free update to the main game.

Quoting: GuestThis game sounds like fun but $150.00 for the complete game is a bit much. They seem to be releasing DLC's every couple of months.

Agreed, €19.99 for the Apocalypse DLC alone is just too much...
They do sales on DLC too, but usually not the last one, so it is necessary to wait for a quarter or two for another DLC releases, in order to get the "current" one in a sale. And Stellaris DLCs are quite overpriced :(

Quoting: TcheyI don't understand the hype for this game. It's pretty empty, when you look at what you can do. I did play at release for about 12 hours, then i thought I've seen it all. All updates released since then just add more of the same, in my opinion.

If you look across the 4X game landscape for available options (and also account for the fact that not all of them are necessarily available on Linux platform), you will quickly find out that Stellaris is one of the most complex 4X games out there, providing lots of game mechanics other games don't, providing lots of in-game "stuff" and possibilities to that player that other games don't.... (e.g. Mater of orion is oddly satisfying in the immersion - good music, beautiful voice acting, quite a good set of gameplay mechanics, but it is very "simple", when compared to Stellaris).
Here the issue with the game might be that Paradox went so deep (and wide) with some of the mechanics, that they >should< provide more content for the mechanics, in order to maintain proper immersion (and avoid e.g. event repetition), but I guess it is just too much of content to be created. And I can imagine why -> the manufacturing costs of all those cut-scenes, voice-acting, content for each possibility of all the branches of each event/mechanic -> that would be a herculean task! (as an example: remember how many play-through stories there were in e.g. Mass Effect series? and how the choices branched? and how they more/less failed to cover for all the story branches in the end (although trey tried admirably)? -> and how much all that content cost them in the end either way? and how it was still not enough? :))
Also providing stories/events as a text only (and as small picture to make your imagination going) gives them the possibility (or freedom if you want) to change/update/adjust the gameplay mechanics later on using updates, until they say "this is the last version of the game mechanics which is "good enough""...
Hence also constant updates of game mechanics for the past 2 years in the first place :)

So, I love it. It gives me 4X gameplay possibilities as no other 4X game before...

And nope, I'm not addicted to it... I can quit whenever I want, ya know... :)

Quoting: DevlinHas someone played DoW III? I just received a 50% discount coupon on Steam and I was tempted to buy it but the reviews there are pretty bad.
Yeah, me too - 50% off. I already have the game, though....

It is not bad, it is a bit "different" again from the previous DoWs. I would say it is definitely worth a try, but I still believe the first one was the best one (with all the DLCs & additional campaigns and races) :)

Yep, I'm missing a Linux/SteamOS icon too in the Steam client, so not released for Linux yet?

Quoting: dorronDoes this one have some kind of single-player? Or at least bots?
Nope and nope.
Only multiplayer. And that is the small issue with this game - you either shoot other people for "no reason" (=read no e.g. background story etc) on quite colorful maps, or you choose to start a different game with different content for different experience. There is no "in between" for this game...
