About the GOG bundles: the one with Battle Chasers:Nightwar, Shadow Tactics and Kingdom Come: Deliverance works on Linux with some tweaks.

GOG offers Battle Chasers only for Windos+Mac, so you need WINE+DXVK run the game. It needs some additional video codecs to play videos (I installed the one from here http://www.cccp-project.net/, but maybe with a proper Gstreamer with -ugly and -bad plugins it should works. If I recall correcly I also installed Xact using winetricks.

Kingdom Come runs only using DXVK and copying d3dcompiler_46.dll and d3dcompiler_47.dll from "bin/Win64" to "bin/Win64Shared" (or viceversa, can't recall). Performance is good, but not stellar, I played very few minutes.

Shadow Tactics is native, I still haven't tried it.

What I'm playing this weekend? I'll kill all the remaining Nazis of Wolfenstein: The new order! ;)

Just bought Nier:Automata, I'm getting random GPU (and system) hangs in the first seconds of the first mission

I suspect is a LLVM bug... Running on Mesa 18.2.1 and (output from inxi) Radeon RX 580 Series (POLARIS10 DRM 3.26.0 4.18.9-1-MANJARO LLVM 6.0.1), with Proton 3.7-6

Quoting: YoRHa-2B
Quoting: Comandante ÑoñardoLet's see the performance of the game running with Proton...
~86% of Windows D3D11 on my system, with some stutter here and there (but I've seen worse). Certainly playable.

If Feral ever port this, they should really use the D3D12 renderer as a starting point, it's so much faster than D3D11 in this game. And I'd agree that it should happen sooner rather than later, although it's probably not really their fault that there's no Linux port announced yet.

Is this game a good candidate to work with the VKD3D layer? Do you know what's the status of the project?

I suggest all the RPG fans to buy ELEX: 20 € for not less than 65 hours of old school gameplay is a bargain. It works like a charm under wine + DXVK. The game is not for all, has more than a rough edge here and there, and is absolutely not an action RPG: you don't level up killing enemies, but resolving quests. In fact in the first 20 hours of gameplay you'll avoid combat, but I finished the game becoming a killing machine, and that was very satisfying (finally the revenge for all those stupid deaths!!!)

What are you playing this weekend?

I wasted my weekend trying games using Steam Play. The results were great: I discovered a GPU hang, some games not working, some graphical glitches, helped my distro improve the Steam Play experience. Wrote some github issues, forum posts, bug reports.

All in all, a great weekend! :D
