Brief report on my PC using Mesa + radeonsi, FullHD and medium settings: game seems a little faster, still stutters, but is playable.
Timothee Besset is working on fixing the long 'hangs' Mesa users get in Rocket League

I noticed that radeonsi tends to stutter: ie. Shadow of Mordor or Tomb Raider have stuttering. Recently I played Deadlight using Wine+Gallium Nine and it has stuttering too when changing a scene. IMHO it has longer shaders compile time.

Your argument is absolutely correct, and I started playing games on C64 too when I was 9, now I'm 40. Yes, over the time my english has improved: but it's not my language, it's not my culture and I spend too much time translating.
If I were living in the UK or somewhere where I could talk to english speakers every day and think in english more, that would be a lot different, but... I'm here in Italy thinking in Italian and speaking to Italians. ;)
My statement about not buying games not providing italian subtitles was referred to RPG and Adventure games: for my 40th birthday I gifted myself with the Witcher 3, but the english they speak in the game in nearly incomprehensible to me (I really can't ear where a word ends and where the new one starts), so I had to enable italian subtitles, but reading all that text for hours is tiring, so I stopped playing the game. That's how frustrating can be the language barrier. Not to talk about when you play with a vocabulary near to you.
I promise to improve my english from now on! ;)

Quoting: GrimfistQuoting: ziabiceIt's 2017, and developers should understand that they could at least provide subtitles or a way to let users create amateur translations. As an example: we have now a fantastic Italian translation for Baldur's Gate: Enchanced Edition that is included in the original game, at no cost for the developer, thanks to the efforts of the community!
And yes: I don't buy anymore games that at least don't offer subtitles in my native language.
Well, I am no native english speaker myself, but I started playing games as a little 8 year old kid with my good old C64, and guess what, there was no german translation for all the games. Did I finish them? Hell yeah, because I learned english that way, I never use the german versions of my games now too, because most of the times the localization is bad (some games really excel here, like all Blizzard games e.g.) and it is more fun and training for my english skills.
So maybe give it a try and improve your english here ;)

Playing RPGs and Adventure Games in a foreign language that you aren't very proficient is very hard: a lot is lost in translation.
I have to admit that while I was playing the first Shadowrun, despite its evidents flaws, I asked myself why I continued: it was because of the very very good Italian translation. It was really fantastic, and managed to create that atmosphere that is fundamental for a RPG or Adventure game.

Being reminded of this more can only be a good thing for developers.

I liked the first game because of the setting and the very good Italian translation, then bought the second episode, but the lack of translation stopped me to play it (there's a lot of text). The series has its flaws, but is anyway enjoyable if you are into sci-fi and cyberpunk.
The games are very often on sale, buy them without hesitation if you speak english very well.

I'm currently playing Dragon's Dogma using WINE Staging 2.0rc5 + CSMT and it works like a charm, very impressed. It works better using Gallium Nine patches, but is less stable.

Liam, do you know if there will be a new point release after Mesa 13.0.3 including this bugfix or we should expect it directly into Mesa 17?
Some thoughts on switching from Ubuntu to Antergos for Linux gaming

I'm too on Manjaro, and that is the only single feature that annoys me. Anything else is great about Manjaro.

Quoting: XpanderQuoting: KeyrockHow does this compare to Manjaro (also Arch based)? Because, I'm quite happy with Manjaro (XFCE Edition).
Antergos uses same repos as Arch afaik, so there will be less package conflicts with AUR
Manjaro holds back some updates and maintains their own repositories which can be problematic with AUR compatibility in some cases

Valve are looking to gather a list of games that don't work with radeonsi

If you search the steam hub of the game you can find a fix that I found for the problem, it's the usual compatibility profile problem.

Quoting: whizseQuoting: jsa1983Any chance offending games may be reported through other channels other than tweeter?See the wiki page in the original post, I'm sure Liam can send it to Valve later.
Steam forum? Mail?
I've got a few of them:
- Crookz
- Grand ages: Medieval
- Dying Light (compatibility profile)
- Dead Island (except for the Ryder campaign, which surprisely works fine)
As for the games, make sure that you actually report bugs upstream: https://bugs.freedesktop.org
I see no entries at all for Crookz or Grand Ages there. Mesa devs can't fix bugs they aren't aware of.
