1 February 2021 at 8:48 pm UTC

Quoting: scaineAnd doesn't install automatically on Proton, despite Proton being a tailored wine version?
It looks like Proton installs Mono: https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton/issues/18#issuecomment-484887026

Quoting: scaineHow do you install Mono, such that these launchers (like Elite:Dangerous) pick it up and run it, instead of .Net? I can't find any guides. Is it as simple as installing the entire Mono stack from your package manager?
Wine usually installs Mono automatically.

NES-style free chiptune music maker FamiStudio has a new release up
12 January 2021 at 12:58 pm UTC

Quoting: InverseTelecineThis looks really cool! I'd like to be able to make simple music for short videos, and this feels like it might be a little more manageable for someone with no musical ability.
Imho LMMS is a bit better for "simple music for short videos", while FamiStudio is useful if you want to play your short videos on NES.

Quoting: TeqGoing to mention that I'm using Sway, since it's not an option. I'm probably in a minority but I'm curious if that's really less used than some of the other options you've got listed.
Sway is among "Window manager only"

Quoting: einherjarHmm, I installed steam through sudo apt-get install steam on Kubuntu 20.04 and everything works fine. But installing this way means, I am on the repository package version, doesn't it?

AFAIK you get problems with the flatpak version.

Try to install a package from https://store.steampowered.com/about/

Quoting: Avehicle7887Good good, this means that's 1 less reason for devs to use DX12 and DXR. Convincing them Vulkan is the better option will probably be the hardest part.
Xbox ? (Does it have vulkan at all?)
