You still need Windows for it. I don't have one except unsupported WinXP.

Quoting: subI somehow doubt it.

There is always the option that they went back to the original authors and got a licence of some sort that doesn't require them to release anything.

That was my initial question, actually. :)
Then it must be GLQuake/WinQuake because else (DarkPlaces, Quakespasm etc) they need to "got a licence of some sort" form entire Quake community.
But i believe they will opensource their modifications.

Quoting: Botonoski... something almost indescribable ...
It's nostalgia about Doom 2, Duke Nukem 3D, Quake 1 or PSOne/PSX.

Quoting: mylka... so these cards can easily translate dx9 to opengl with 100+ fps ...
For me some DX9 games still perform bad with wined3d on my Geforce GTX 1050 but they performed better with Gallium Nine on the same PC but with Radeon HD 7850.

What have you been playing recently and what do you think of it?

Quoting: thelimeydragongame appears to require Wayland. I don't currently gave Wayland installed and not planning to soon. So I'll probably have to refund it. I'll keep it on my wish list tho.
AFAIK You can use Wayland under X
edit: GTK3, Mesa, MPV, Retroarch and many other things also require Wayland.

... to turn compositing off. KWin even has hotkey to toggle compositing.

Quoting: buenaventuraI dont think I dare to do this with my laptop gtx1060, it would probably shorten lifespan I guess?
Up to now, any reports of overclocking hardware shortens the lifespan is all guesswork.
It will take years of extensive testing on lots of identical hardware to find the average lifespan of a graphics card. No one has done it yet. But yet there are people who gave overclocked their systems and ran them for much longer than the average time for upgrade.
However, in your case I wouldn't try it with a laptop because of the lack of cooling.
I'm sure overclock will shorten lifespan of laptop's battery.

AMD doesn't need such option because vsync "just works" there
