Quoting: ShabbyXMaybe they used to have a whole distro with every irrelevant lib and app installed, then went and trimmed that. Like I think LibreOffice is installed by default on many distros, but obviously the deck doesn't need that.
It's Arch, it doesn't have anything "irrelevant" preinstalled.

I don't consider it charity then. I'd better donate somewhere else.

Quoting: michaldybczakI just updated to Nvidia 495.44 and the Wayland session won't start. Does it mean I must wait for the update of xorg-xwayland 21.1.3 for it to work or something is wrong on my side?
XWayland doesn't affect your session, it's only for Xorg apps/games

Quoting: KohlyKohlWhere does one get this package? Latest I'm seeing is for 470.

They're always available from the Nvidia website.

Of course, though installing that way on debian based systems is not recommended.
AFAIK you can make .deb package from Nvidia's .run file and install it on Debian/Ubuntu/Mint

It's actually pretty depressing how many of these went for the proprietary option. I suppose it got a head start, but still.
Looks like this story is similar to CUDA vs OpenCL where we have two solutions but only one of them is really good but it's proprietary.
