NVIDIA Vulkan Beta driver 515.49.19 is out now, driver 515.76 causing problems
3 October 2022 at 12:31 pm UTC

This is the current mask message for 515.76 in Gentoo:
# Ionen Wolkens <[email protected]> (2022-09-25)
# This version been causing major issues for some RTX 30xx users and
# no real reason not to stick to 515.65.01 for now (but feel free to
# unmask if it's been fine).

so it seems to be limited to newer cards (RTX 3000), I can confirm that this version works fine for me with my "old" 970"

Interesting, nice to see official Linux support for another flight sim! Though personally I will be busy enough with X-Plane for a long time (including recent addition to the hangar, Thranda's new Beaver ).

Wasteland 3 for Linux (and Mac) delayed, possible by end of 2020

I had been really close to get a nice level on their kickstarter. It looks like "wait and see if they actually deliver" was the correct option here...

Quoting: PatolaBTW -- who else is raising and lowering the windows like hell since the latest release of Euro Truck / American Truck? I can't stop doing that.

Playing with the controls and listen to the engine noise levels changing and moving from left to right?

dosbox-staging, a 'soft' forking of DOSBox to work on advanced features has a first release
7 May 2020 at 6:57 am UTC Likes: 1

Really nice! Thanks for the article, dosbox with SDL2, x86-64 dynamic and dynrec cores, resizable windows, XDG base directory, ...
It compiles fine on Gentoo, testing an ebuild in my overlay before adding it to main tree soon.

Hopefully MT-32 and 3dfx integration will be there soon!

If you have the retro gaming itch RetroPie 4.6 is out with support for the Raspberry Pi 4
30 April 2020 at 8:52 pm UTC

Most probably linked to that retropie release, batocera also now has a beta for rpi4:
https://forum.batocera.org/public/d/3547-raspberry-pi-4-first-526-build

For now I stay with my trusty rpi3, as Retroflag does not provide yet cases for the 4 (and the MEGAPi case looks so nice)

Laminar Research readying Vulkan support for an upcoming public beta with X-Plane 11.50

Reading the details, it does sound quite promising! Easier debugging and "on the fly paging" texture memory handling should get bettter performance+prettier results+easier configuration, nice combo :)

Also, this reminds again of how much Laminar Research continues improving a release with new features, like adding Vulkan support more than 3 years after initial 11 release
