I'd add "Kingdom Come: Deliverance". I know, the game is still in development, but a Beta for Linux was promised months (or rather years ago). First they took money from Linux backers, then they promised details about the current status of the Linux port for months. But they actually never disclosed anything.
Alienware do a pretty nice job of advertising their Steam Machine & SteamOS in this new video

Meraco? The meraco!? It's an honor to meet you here. Glad that you don't restrict flaming to the Steam forums and make a forceful impression here.

And we are talking about a 0.04% change in a random sample. That's probably one less Linux user that got the questionaire. Or maybe two.

Quoting: BeamboomIt's so funny to see the steady flow of poor excuses and illogical reasoning every. Single. Time. an article about the Steam survey results are published. Get over it guys, we're small. Tiny. Almost invisible on the radar.
That's status quo today.

What is a Pro GAMER? And I assume that they (whatever they are) account only for a miniscule amount of the overall Steam player base.

The new stats page is nice. But could you add percentage to the absolute figures? E.g. RAM - 16GB "319/40%"

Compared to the funding goal of 900,000 (which again contain all your mentioned costs) these 200,000 sound quite "substantial".
How can they estimate any costs whatsoever, when they apparently are entirely clueless how much effort it's gonna be?

Quoting: KristianIt appears they aren't even sure about which engine they will use! There is a comment about looking into using Unreal engine near the earlier linked comment about a Linux demo.
Quoting: rustybroomhandleQuoting: TuxeeQuoting: dmantioneWell, it's a process... many developers know Unity allows near-free Linux ports.
Then why would you need an extra USD200,000? Can't be attributed to pure QA.
Best guess is they are planning to outsource the work to someone else.
Well $200,000 extra in pledges is not $200,000 extra to spend on development, you have to subtract Kickstater fees, credits card fees, declined payments/chargebacks, manufacturing of physical rewards, shipping of physical rewards, etc

QuoteNobody says that the entire net amount after that will go to the stretch goal. They might use part of that for other things/expanding the game or something. But even still an expensive Linux port might well eat up the money that is left over after all those various fees and expenses.

As usual. "We are completely clueless, but we promise nonetheless." As a burned "Kingdom Come: Deliverance" backer I will definitely refrain from pre-release funding.

I suppose it is pretty safe to assume that the Linux version of KC: D will never see the light of day and that backers (like me) got royally screwed by Warhorse.

Indeed. Around Christmas I built a rig with i3-6100/950/8GB/250GB SSD on an ITX board with quiet power supply. Was around EUR500 and is decent enough for most games. The difference to my other desktop with i7/960 is most of the time hardly noticable.

Quoting: EKRboiIt is indeed cool that they are making new models, but I'm a little confused by the "For more horsepower" model that is $150 more.
As far as gaming goes the user will likely see VERY little difference as far as performance from the two models. IMO it would have made MUCH more sense to keep the i5 in the "upgraded" model but use the extra $150 to put in a GTX970 to go with the 1tb HDD. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
