Quoting: Segata SanshiroDon't get the obsession with adding multiplayer to absolutely everything nowadays *grumble grumble* but the new additions should be a good excuse to revisit the game.
You know, I wasn't sure how much multiplayer would really add to this game either, despite being a mostly-co-op guy. But I do like it. I think I like playing with one other person best. Playing with two others is OK; three others creates a game pace that I don't like in this game so much.

Quoting: CriticalGamesAUHi everyone, developer of 8-Bit Adventures 2 here - thanks for the comments! =D

Quoting: 14Would be great for anyone who picked up one of those pocket Linux computers.

I don't know much about those sorry (devices like the Gemini, right?), but so long as the specs are up to par, then I think that sounds like a great idea!
Thanks for chiming in!

This is the one I was picturing:
Pyra
https://www.gamingonlinux.com/articles/the-handheld-linux-computer-pyra-is-available-for-pre-order.7285

Since then, there have been a couple others mentioned:
GPD Win 2
https://www.gamingonlinux.com/articles/the-gpd-win-2-could-be-an-interesting-device-for-linux-gaming-on-the-go.11048
SMACH Z
https://www.gamingonlinux.com/articles/you-can-now-pre-order-the-smach-z-gaming-handheld.11670

I'd definitely play pixel games if I got a handheld device with built in controller buttons that ran on Linux. There would be more low-resources games on Linux that would interest me than what's available on my 3DS.

Quoting: 14I'm not very much into sim games. I only need to play one every couple of years to satisfy my itch, even though I really liked Theme Hospital and Sim City 2000 when I was a kid. This Two Point Hospital trailer is pretty convincing that the itch is back. :)

how about sim tower?

You have to log in with a Minecraft account to play.

I'd assume that the update is free, but the game itself is not free.

And yeah, my kids will be really excited when I tell them about this... and it'll be a little bit of work for me to update my server and their clients & mods.

Thanks. I will give Dwarf Fortress a try sometime. I've had it installed for several weeks now but have been gun shy.

Looks like survival game 'Stranded Deep' is now officially available on Linux

Quoting: 14It just seems like Rust to me. Why would I get it?

Rust is a multiplayer survival game with focus on PvP. Stranded Deep is a single player and very much a solitary experience.
Not for long.

Quoting: liamdaweWhile it is a single-player game, they are planning to add in co-op support which could be quite fun as well.

Anyway, I don't see this game experience as unique. I could run a Rust server by myself or restricted to friends and it seems to me like it would be a pretty samey experience.
