I'm so sick of seeing "if it's on sale"... These people, especially the smaller devs, need $ to survive, and they work damned hard. Buy saying you'll only buy their game if it goes on sale you just devalue their work.

How likely do you think it is that some are now inflating their prices so that a sale is affordable to them?
Because the frequency of Steam sales has eliminated full-price purchases for the patient. It makes it feel like you got ripped off to buy a game and then see it hit 25%+ off a week later. I do hear your point. I want to say I agree. But my actions don't agree with you. I am so behind in games that I basically only buy games that have been out for a year or more because I still don't want to miss out. There is NO POINT wasting my money on a new release if I have 10+ great games I haven't started yet. That said, I do have friends that get through games quickly and want more. They buy new games at release. So, I know that not everyone is in the boat I am in. Hopefully those guys agree with you. :)

Oh man you missed out, Crysis 2 was SO much better! The first was fun too, by all means, but the rather generic tropical island setting never did it for me. The sequel though... Ah man that was quite the experience!
Ah, man. Bummer.

I'm keeping it on my wish list because this game looked really cool. But I don't buy games until they work on my OS.

The 'GPD Win 2' could be an interesting device for Linux gaming on the go

Every time I play Stardew Valley, I wish it was on a handheld. I don't want to buy a Switch just for it, though. (I already bought the 3DS just for Fire Emblem.) The GDP looks great, but really hard to justify. I can probably type faster on a touch screen than a tiny keyboard with real buttons. Maybe I'm wrong though. Two thumbs are better than one. Still, a Switch for $300 was too much for me to consider, so doubling that doesn't fly.

On the topic of handheld gaming in public, I see your point. I don't do it that much in public either. But I have at times played during lunch breaks at work. That might be seen as childish in your office / warehouse / wherever, but I work in a big IT building with many other nerds. In fact, we have game systems provided by the company in the break room. And no, I'm not in my 20's anymore. :)

CRYENGINE to get improved Linux support

Quoting: Purple Library GuyEven so, the situation seems dire enough that I can well imagine whoever's responsible wanting to say, "It's My Engine and I'll CRY if I want to".
OMG, I LOL'ed!

As far as Far Cry goes, that one didn't catch on to me. I beat Crysis, and the feel of it was good, but I didn't like the game itself too much. Never bought the sequels because of that. What I'm trying to say is, more games on those engines sounds good to me. :)

Being a truly good game helps.
Just look at Path Of Exile - probably the best Hack&Slash game out there, way better than Diablo 3. It is a Windows game, but runs on Wine.
And they finance themselves only via cosmetic items in the shop. Bought some useless fluff just to support them as I felt bad for not doing so.
I agree with this, but, personally, my money output is nowhere near $15/mo. I've probably spent about $15 total per F2P game that I spent so many hours that I felt I should really pay some money.

The “Fall 2017” update for Civilization VI has finally made it to Linux

Because of the Humble deal right now, I'm fairly tempted to grab this game. But lack of cross-platform neuters it. I think I'd be better off getting Civ V even though it's getting on the old side.

Streets of Rogue has to be one of the funniest co-op gameplay experiences I've had lately

I'm not into all of the 2D games but this one looks too fun to miss.

I'm pretty interested I'll say. The textures are boring, true, but I wouldn't say as bad as CS 1.5.

Wasn't there a SOCOM mod in development for Linux? This reminds me of that.
