I like the graphics at least. Makes me wish I could play Pikmin. I'm interested.

Some thoughts on Vikings - Wolves of Midgard

I've been on the fence about this one for a long time. Since it sounds like co-op requires same OS, I'll hold off until either that's fixed or I set up a Linux drive for my friend.

The character structure made me think of FF Tactics: War of the Lion straight away.

GW2 already works in WINE; unless the latest expansion has killed it! But a month ago it was just fine.
Yeah, it worked a couple years ago when I tried last actually. I was just listing off the games I'd likely rely on WINE for.

That's some great news. While I've steered away from using Wine, once I nuke my Windows 7 installation in the year 2020, there may be a game or two that I can't live without.

Some games that I can live without but would be nice to have:
PUBG
HotS
Skyrim (already beat it, but kinda want to play through it again)
Elder Scrolls Online
Guild Wars 2
Battlefield 4
Starcraft II

Out of those games, I've only been playing PUBG lately. While I would miss playing that with my friends, It's not a road block for me ditching Windows once it loses all support.

Lack of co-op campaign kills it for me. The only single-player games I play anymore are RPG's, and I still can't keep up with all the good ones. I'm only playing the Witcher 3 (PS4) just now, and I have Andromeda (PS4), Pillars of Eternity, a couple Shadowruns, and KOTORII at my disposal. Those are the ones I already own. On my wish list are the Banner Saga, Baldur's Gates, Icewind Dale, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, Tyranny, and the Dwarves.

Pre-ordering only had an advantage in physical media days. If you didn't want to wait a week or sometimes longer to find a copy of a hot, new game, you pre-ordered. Since games are vastly digital today, even on consoles to some percentage I don't know, pre-ordering has like no incentive other than that little feeling you get when you spend money. Basically, the same feeling that drives us to buy games on sale even if we don't have time to play the games we already own. What does this all sound like to me? Addiction.

DwarfCorp, an open source & procedurally generated real-time strategy game is now in Early Access

Yeah, I was gonna say something about Dwarf Fortress as well, even though I never gave that game more than 30 minutes of my time. This looks to be very similar but perhaps without the tedium. Despite it looking to be single player, I'm actually still interested. Looks pretty sweet.

Very interesting indeed. If I can install Steam and say, watch DRM content like Netflix, it would be enticing.
