Love Tropico 5 on Linux. Great performance too. Tropico 6 is also great especially since the base game has most of what you get in 5 but with dlcs.
Good Linux ports are rare but they do happen. dxvk makes up for the rest.

Quoting: 1xokMy first game was Tropico 5, which I even bought at full price. I can still remember hovering over the buy button for a while, wondering whether I should really do it.

Looks cute and fun with a lot of polish on top. A pretty rare combo now-a-days.

How stable is it?
The last patch for Warhammer 2 made it almost unplayable on linux because of the infamous segmentation fault crash error.
Also, Warhammer III patch 2.3 just released. I guess we'll have to wait another month and a half for that one. :|

I don't think calling this an example of the "perils of open source" is a good idea. It's abuse of the good will of others. Calling it a "peril" will only make people avoid open source.

In a capitalist market not begging for something and choosing a competing product works better than beging for it and not getting it both in terms of user satisfaction and as a persuation strategy.

I was using dxvk instead of vkd3d.

Quoting: ShmerlQuoting: GroganSystem wine should work, and you really shouldn't even need to have DXVK and VKD3d installed, because Lutris supplies them and will create symlinks when the wine prefix is generated or updated, according to what is in the fields in Runner Options (you have to have Advanced view enabled to see that stuff though)
That's what I do for my Wine prefixes too. Just make symlinks for dxvk and vkd3d-proton once (which are stored in a separate location), which I then build periodically to get newest features.
It works now. Thanks.

Are there any special settings required?

Are there any special settings required?

There are a lot of conflicting ideas here. Doing whatever you want with the software you run is, most of the time, illegal. In the case of Minecraft it definitely is. And you can never do everything one might want because there are always restrictions. Either from the EULA or general laws and regulations.
In the digital world the rule of law starts with the EULA which is enforced by copyright laws. Most of the time you either run open source software, which also has restrictions on what can be done, or copyrighted programs which you cannot even own because they are often sold on a subscription model that relies on services which you cannot control.
The only thing you can do is stop using something if you don't like it. That and writing your own new version with your own EULA that will force your view of how things should be done onto others so they can then complain in turn. :)

Quoting: Nic264I still believe people should be free to do whatever they want with the software they run
...
And shady stuff like Blockverse should be regulated by law, not by software EULAs.

Steam is also great and they've done a lot more for gaming on linux than gog but gog is the only drm free store out there. Steam also has drm free titles but they do not label them. Both have contributed a lot in their own way.

Quoting: dorron...and that's why i don't buy anything from GOG.They do have Linux builds and they work well. The no drm policy makes a client irrelevant outside convenience features like auto updates.

It would have been nice to see some benchmarks and some info on the general build quality. USB port placement, pictures from various angles including outdoor screen visibility and the case materials.
