CodeWeavers partners of Valve on Proton move to an Employee Ownership Trust
20 May 2023 at 6:40 pm UTC

Quoting: Purple Library GuyIt's very positive. Mind you, if it were becoming an actual worker-owned co-operative I'd be ecstatic. The two are not the same; with these trusts employees have an odd theoretical form of ownership, but usually do not have the control or votes that would go with ownership in most circumstances; the trust is typically managed "on behalf" of the employees. It's more like having money in a pension fund that owns the company than it is like owning the company per se. But it's certainly better than corporate status quo.

Couldn’t agree more.

Quoting: elmapuli rather have 800p OLED instead
Thos was my thought. OLED and maybe higher refresh potential.

Same, OLED at the same resolution would be the sweet spot. I have the feeling using an OLED screen would be more than $99, though.

Quoting: Purple Library GuyNo, they just don't like monopolies, or even oligopolies. Which I'm morally certain you already knew before you asked.

Well its a bit late now isn't it. They should have complained way back when Disney and Apple started buying up the planet....

People did.

When I moved to the UK, nearly 12 years ago, I only had an 11" Toshiba mini laptop that was barely capable of running games. And Yet It moves was one of those, and probably one of the first game I played on it/in the UK. Not the best game in the world, but one that brings good memories :)

Need a new controller? The 8BitDo Ultimate C 2.4G looks great

Quoting: StoneColdSpiderDoes this one have the hall effect sensor analogue sticks???
I really hated how they released two "Ultimate" controllers but only 1 had the hall effect sensor analogue sticks......

I don't think this one will. On Amazon, the Ultimate version that does have it, clearly states so in the description of the item, as well as being £20+ in comparison with the version that doesn't.

The controllers look great, and my Steam Controller is slowly giving in. Hopefully there will be some offer on the Ultimate eventually.

I honestly don't know how do companies test their games to release them in a mess like this. I guess it's our own responsiblity too for having short term memory and allow it.

I'm happy for this decision, but very sad for the amount of opinions thinking that megacorporations and mergers are a good thing.
