The setting smells like Eclipse Phase, and I'm a sucker for that TTRPG.

I like the concept of linking accounts and the games from the stores showing natively in the OS, but not sure I trust this project yet.

Quoting: ArehandoroI've never managed to get PSN to work, does that mean that once they enforce it we won't be able to play it on the Deck/linux?

Yes, without a PSN account you can't buy, play and download the game, if you life in a region without psn network access. You can't buy all new sony pc ports.

I live in a country with PSN network. I just couldn't make it work from a game on desktop (fedora)

Quoting: Drakker5600X still doing an amazing job. I'm pretty sure it will last me until AMD's next socket change then I'll buy a cheap first or second generation CPU and upgrade to the last generation the socket supports again.

Same for me.

Apparently, there is willingness. Just a matter of, y'know, getting the license (and not having it yoinked from them mid-development as was the case with their Activision deal), the funding, and the team to make it.

And then there's the fact that Jane has been writing garbage in industrial quantities for over a decade.

And then I look back at Moebius, which is horribly written and, somehow, designed even worse than that, and I'm not sure a GK4 is safe with Jane Jensen anymore. I'm hoping that new GK story will be sensational... but it probably won't be.

All this said, I'm excusing the terrible art direction in the GK1 remake. They had a tiny budget and Activision screwing with their deal, so I'll let issues like a comic book page with three different and clashing art styles pass. Although... that is also concerning, seeing as a potential GK4 would also be very much indie.

Yeah, you're right, most likely won't be any good and maybe leave it as it is for now.

Open Source implementation of GOG Galaxy's Communication Service, Comet sees a first release

GOG did an AMA on Reddit, and someone asked about Linux: https://www.reddit.com/r/residentevil/s/nfL7k7WanM

The reply:

"**Maciej:** It's amazing to see Linux gaming booming, and the Steam Deck is a fantastic device - I'm thrilled to see it happening. To be completely honest, GOG isn't doing much to proactively support Linux gamers at the moment. We have an affiliate deal with Heroic Game Launcher, an alternative open-source client for Epic, GOG, and Amazon Prime Games, but that's about it. You might say that Linux gamers are doing more for GOG than we do for them, considering some of them created the open-source GALAXY client "Minigalaxy". Ultimately, we'd love to provide a better experience for Linux gamers as soon as we can afford it without diverting resources from our mission of Making Games Last Forever. Even within that mission, there's still a lot we feel we could do better. It might not be the answer you were looking for, but it's an honest one :)"
