Rogue Stormers from the Giana Sisters developers is now on Linux, an action heavy platformer
12 September 2016 at 11:05 pm UTC

I can report that with some help from the game devs, I can now start the game from the command line! However it still doesn't launch from the Steam application.

Is anyone else having this problem?

The game, however, is great fun and the controls are very responsive.

Having multiplayer connection problems here, too, using OpenSUSE 42.1. Gonna try again tomorrow during the day.

*Way* more reliable than Arch in my experience; nothing arbitrarily breaks every two days.
Good choice!

At the moment I am using Leap 42.1 as my chosen platform and have had very few video or sound issues with my 170-odd installed games. Video card is a GTX 980.

The only problems I have encountered are sound crackling in Life is Strange and D : OS, which I think is a PulseAudio problem; and the missing body problem with Mordor for which I have applied the "__GL_ShaderPortabilityWarnings=0 %command%" fix.

Quoting: GuestLack of a competitive e-mail client is truly the bane of Linux for business. If it wasn't for that, Linux would have a much easier time competing in the business space.
I think Thunderbird would hold up very well with its capacity for multiple identities and multiple accounts.

At my workplace, however, we are still using XP or 2000 and Lotus Notes... :-(

I played the demo of this a while ago, which was available on Itch. Excellent old-school game :-)

Whilst I am very excited about the possibly of a Linux release of this game, there are some interesting comments on the DE:MD Steam forum about one-shot microtransactions!

No Man's Sky has been shown to work rather well in Wine on Linux

I'm having trouble starting the game with wine. I've created a 64-bit wineprefix and followed the usual steps to install the game but keep getting the R6025 error. I've installed the VC packages using winetricks but there must be something else that I am missing.

What have you been playing recently and how is it?

Have just finished Life is Strange and thought it was great; rather different to my usual choice of games. I chose the selfish ending :-)

Currently playing Broforce (great fun) and Risk of Rain (horrible controls). Have also been playing the original Serious Sam via Wine. This will keep me going until I can play Doom :-)

Snow Horse released with Linux support recently, it sits firmly in my 'whut' pile

QuoteGoat Simulator is just as stupid as this. As Liam said, amusing for five minutes, then you never touch it again. And if you do, whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy?

I have 183 hours in Goat Simulator, but I'm not sure about this horse game!
