Will anything dethrone the Steam Deck? Probably not

They could do that. But with how the actual Linux user share has been trending to its highest levels I don't think so.
The only gripe I have is publishers not working with Valve on their anticheat after so much progress in that area.

Quoting: FauconNoirI was thinking that maybe they artificially push it to the top sellers to advertise it...

I really enjoyed The Sands of Time, Warrior Within and The Two Thrones then they lost me after that. I'm not really sure what they're going with for the backstory on this character but he doesn't scream Persian at all to me.

The M1 chip was definitely interesting to me when it was first released because of its efficiency... I have zero interest in MacOS however so it's nice to see people continue to hack away and bring support to Linux. I wonder if this work will easily translate to the M1 successors.

I've only watched one video talking about these parts but it seems a similar performance IPC boost to previous generations. I'm more interested in the 3D parts whenever they get announced tbh. But tbh I'm quite happy with my 5800X3D cpu for now.
I wish AMD could make such good progress with their GPU's as they do their CPU's.

That's pretty typical behavior from *some* programmers I used to work with. I do remember him being quite negative towards Linux. I guess proton and the Steam Deck has made him change his mind to some degree.
Heh. Kinda childish blocking you tho.

I thought I had seen a lot of news related to Nvidia and open source projects lately. I wonder... Maybe they are involved in a piece of hardware Valve are making? We know Valve want the ability to fix driver issues as they arise which is only possible if the drivers are open source.

They do fix things up for Intel and Nvidia also, the main focus originally was on AMd hardware for obvious reasons but it makes sense to get it working on as much hardware as possible, especially if they eventually release SteamOS for general use. I think I read recently Nvidia are looking to support NVK more going forward.

Quoting: GuestWait. Why? Is valve...? Why are they doing this? Is something with nvidia in the works or is it steamos?

I don't plan to use a Nvidia GPU anytime soon but this is very cool. Open source drivers, no matter the manufacturer getting some love is always a good thing.

I still have on my shelf the original box for this game. When I was younger I played a lot of click and point adventure games. Obviously Broken Sword, Day of the Tentacle, Full Throttle, The Dig, The 7th Guest, Discworld to name a few. My friends were especially into Monkey Island.
If an actual artist is going over the AI upscaled assets and fixing the weird aberations AI tends to produce it could be good.. However if it's a sloppy job they could end up ruining a classic. Let's hope thats not the case.

I eventually want to buy a 4k OLED TV, this is the first I've ever heard of trouble supporting such a standard. How ridiculous. DisplayPort isn't very common outside of monitors so that would be an extremely annoying limitation. Hopefully by the time I upgrade a work around is created.
