It does start fine now in native mode (had to switch compatibility mode to 'scout' for the first start, but that is a steam issue after using proton before) Game seems to work nicely otherwise, but the sewers still have the slowdown issue with CPU load in the high 90s and GPU load in turn going toward single digit. Same behavior has been previously observed with Proton.

GLIBC version is also a problem for everything based on Ubuntu 22.04 LTS (they ship with version 2.35)
Did a quick test with Proton Experimental instead: ran nicely until the game slowed down to a crawl reproducible by the sneak section in the training area CPU usage goes through the roof.
Textboxes need definitely an increase in size - especially button prompts are hard to decipher on 24'.

Personally I would rather like to see "loading-screen simulator" and "cutscene-movie with walking transitions and quick-time events"(could maybe be shortened to 'tripple-A', if to long) as tags for filtering purposes ;-)

To clarify: this is just meant to help with a fresh install on newer hardware that is not supported by the 5.15 LTS Kernel. Kernel 6.5 has been available via the update manager on existing Mint installations for quite a while.

my 60 seconds of wayland experience:
logged in - mousemovement felt off as if accellerated - started steam (immediately tried to update a lot of shader-cashes seemingly due to compositor change) - started a game - game ran smoothly and mouseinput worked - no keyboardinput whatsoever accepted so stuck immobile in game - hard reset by unplugging the power cable.
Summary:
60 seconds, two problems noticed, projected end-user gains unclear = not sure I will bother again this decade unless extremely bored

Would like to add the brilliant Tabletop Simulator which is basically endless co-op fun with board games.
Wasteland 3, Wildermyth, For the King, Divinity Original Sin are also quit good Co-op titles of you are able to commit more time.

Clearly the Todd's Loading Screen Simulator is number one in 'innovative gameplay' category.
Must have been a sad year for gaming considering the finalists... .
Should I have overloocked a hidden gem in one of the categorys one may graciously accept my humble apology for my ignorance.
