Core2Quad q9400 @2,66ghz, gtx 670 2GB, 6GB RAM , 1280x1024, Linux Mint 18.1

Game runs well above 30 fps with max. settings and 4xAA
only exception so far: the menu is noticably laggy

Quite pleased with the performance of the port!

Shadow of War, a sequel to Shadow of Mordor announced, no word on Linux yet

Press button, watch lengthy swordplay animation in visually unattractive environment, rinse ,repeat...
Personally I could probably live quite well without it if the choice was to have limited resources port this or something actually fun gameplay wise. On the other hand more AAA is still welcome for the platform ... .
Tough call but given we have quite a selection of games available by now I would rather see third party porters concentrate on quality titles instead of mass produced blockbusters. The big names with their yearly reincarnation of one and the same game should be able to press the export to Linux button themselves if they can do so for every other platform on the planet.

Fumbling around with tanks in War Thunder on Linux, some thoughts

Grab a joystick, strap a steamcontroller to your head for head tracking and have fun in simulator battles while looking like an idiot . (be advised: it's an easy to learn simulator light of sorts we are talking about here)

Wish they would give the Linux version proper AA and working 5.1 sound but otherwise it's a very well optimised game and it is indeed quite discrete in advertising the ingame-shop.

Total War: SHOGUN 2 looks like it will be heading to Linux & SteamOS

Guess I will have to reward the port by buying TWWarhammer if Feral does a Shogun 2 port. Already have later from from my Windows days, I fear.

@Feral:
Concerning interest: I would like to suggest looking into the IL-2 Sturmovik: Battle of Stalingrad/Moscow/xxx series of games - well technically it's one game, I guess. Admittedly not that many potential players/buyers but it would be the only current game of it's kind on Linux and it has a lot of desirable dlc options and will probably get more (buyable) content for quite a while yet.

Torment: Tides of Numenera looks set to get a day-1 Linux release

Still have high hopes for the game. Although that monster UI with its animations that constandly scream: "Look at me! I am the thing that blocks 30+ % of your screen, mostly with border decorations, in case you havent noticed." is hard to ignore in the game footage i've seen so far. Hope that will not be as much of an atmosphere killer once one has goten used to it.
Anyway - nice to see day 1 release.

What game are you truly thankful to have on Linux & SteamOS?

War Thunder - it was the one game I played regularly before I decided to switch to Linux and having a Linux version avaliable made the switch pretty painless in terms of gaming needs at that time.
And Shadowrun: Dragonfall since it "cured" me somewhat from my War Thunder addiction.

Since then I bought and played lots (way to many actually ;-)) of great games for this platform - some of which I probably would not have noticed on Windows.

Wine Staging updated, allows you to play DOOM on Linux

Quoting: Luke_NukemSo far this has shown there are three types of people.

The Die-Hard. These gamers won't buy unless there is a proper port or official support.

The Pirate. These gamers don't want to pay for a Windows version, but do want to play the game. They see nothing wrong with pirating it.

The Weiner. They dual-boot and still buy many Windows only games.

Where do I fit in?
I technically still have a Windumb partition.
I might have thrown a few bucks at the game if they had bothered to port or wrap it even though seeing the Bethesda intro logo usually made my left eye twitch for a prolonged period of time.
