Runs actually quite well.
If anyone runs into problems with his controller: the games seems to assign the controllers in the order they appear in /dev/input/
js0 is assigned to player 1
js1 is assigned to player 2
etc
so make sure your gamepad is assigned as js0 if you want to use it.

Maybe it's because I am not a native speaker, but somehow the combination of:
) ( , apologies sincerest btw
feels like someone delightfully shoving a big, stinky middle finger up your nose, does it not?
Sure, cool there is at last some progression, but after the delay one would have expected a shiny, polished release annoncement and not a beta with potentually showstopping bugs as known issues...
Would normally not even mind the delay that much or even beta testing it: f-ups happen and are easily forgiven, but companies have to seriously brush up their communication skills regarding customers.
Think I may be waiting for the finished product here...

Looks good.
I can totally see the motivativation to get of that planet.
Question for me would be how they plan to proceed after leaving it - will there still be intertesting and reasonable things to do or will it just turn out to be another grind for the heck of it?

if I remember correctly multiplayer was a stretch goal so yeah it should be focussed on single player.

hmmm... remove the floating dmg numbers + add a little more oomph and drama to the weapon firing/impact animations and I could picture me quite happily playing what is shown in this early build.
Definitely the most promising attempt to capture the BT spirit in a long, long time. Choosing the 3025 setting and borrowing the MWO mech models( probably the best feature of that game)show good taste so far and if the campaing and ai will be able to live up to that promise then this might become pretty awesome. ^_^

Looking foreward to adding it to the collection.
One question remains though:
Will we get full cross OS multiplayer support this time (meaning mainly with that OS named after a glass filled opening in a wall)?
