Linux Mint working on a new upgrade tool for major releases

Should you still be on 19.3 you will have to upgrade to 20.x first before going to 21.04, though, if you want go that route.

Quoting: Pendragonwhoa! This might actually keep me on Mint if this goes right! .. Having to do a fresh install to upgrade from 19.3 was making me NOT interested in continuingThere was not really a need for that. There is an upgrade path available between major version. It usually is made public a a few days after the .ISO on the release announcement page.

Don`t know... while I do prefer some KDE apps to their GTK counterparts, the Cinnamon desktop simply has some features I would not like to miss anymore...like the ability to separately define the intelli-hide delay to show/hide the panel or the ability to run the file-browser as root or (unlike in KDE) not having to confirm every change and stuff like that. These days the only things that annoy me a bit are easily fixed visuals - like the new theming - or due to some upstream shenanigans from Canonical (snaps) or GTK/Gnome (design and functionality of inherited apps). This tool seems to be another fine refinement. Looking forward to it. Maybe it is actually better that they concentrate on their own DE instead of spreading themself to thin.

The problem is the same as with the cyberpunk game - they kind of ruined their reputation over the last years.
- newer games that did not receive the same updates/dlc avaliable in other stores (this should never happen!)
- galaxy client exclusive features(multiplayer) and promotions while not offering a client for part of their customers
- making Linux feel users like third rate customers(no client, no native versions of games that have one in other stores) even though that is exactly the crowd that would have loudly sung their praises till kingdom come for a little support and the DRM free model alone.
Since only "old games" is a limited market and they can not reasonably compete with the Epic-giveaway-shop and Steam's features and vast catalogue, reputation and consumer friendliness could make them keep and expand their niche - but they would need to put in the extra effort.

The file picker changes are great, still missing a button to hide/show hidden files, though.
The media pre-chaching thing also sounds like a nice fix - I would like to see a solution for the constant shader pre-caching downloads, though (maybe at least a setting for weekly/monthly updates instead of every time steam is opened)

You mean the outdated, potentially broken version (just like most packages in universe/multiverse)?
There is also the official PPA with the newest version.

What a lovely collection!
Rose&Time seems like a brilliant headscratcher
and Tenderfoot Tactics had been on my wishlist way to long (sadly no Linux version on itch but runs well through wine/proton)
Does anyone happen to know how to get Shut In to run properly? I get menu screen when starting via the index.html but it goes black when trying to start a game and i get
TypeError
Cannot read property 'blendModes' of undefined
when trying to start the Game.exe directly. Help would be appreciated ;-)

Quoting: pbSounds pretty smart, the danger of bricking SD should be minimal.Well, they will use an sd-card anyway if they want to install bigger games, won't they? That being said maybe we will see some games offering their 4k assets as optional download in the future? Modern games have become a bit bloated size wise one can not help but feel and if handheld gaming gains traction they might be willing to bother.
Although not that great to the 64GB version users...
1 week from release, Steam Deck hits well over 640 Playable games

I see War Thunder on the list - is the current Linux client actually working well, by now or did they test the proton version with anti cheat?

Funny, menu backgrounds (they are videos star constellation, actually) and in-game videos in Endless Space 2 are now a test picture instead of simply being black. I am not sure I would count that as an improvement ;-)

Let's try to bring it back to games: Since it is on sale - CLOUDPUNK is a pretty nice way to waste away some time! The gameplay itself is technically nothing to write home about, but the atmosphere is fantastic. Enjoyed it quite a bit!
