Senscape show true dedication with ASYLUM, fixing issues with Unreal Engine and Linux

Quoting: Ehvis[..]I highly doubt that performance will be equal (UE4 has never managed that), it should be enough. Looking forward to this one!
There is no much 3d in the game; from what i see, it seems almost all pre-rendered.

NVIDIA adds Ampere support to their Vulkan Beta Driver with a new release
30 September 2020 at 9:11 pm UTC

Quoting: LinLoI'm feeling lonely at each new nvidia driver release.
I have a nvidia Kepler generation card (GTX 600 & 700/TITAN series).
I'm working and playing with it under linux since years.
But, I have an annoying problem with vulkan part. The first release of vulkan beta drivers was out "February 18th, 2016 - Linux 355.00.27". And even now I still can't play a vulkan game or use a vulkan app if display compositor is disabled. This means that with vulkan, performance is degraded by compositor, image quality also (stuttering...) and G-SYNC can't work because it needs compositor off. And no support to address this issue from nvidia.
Officially, Kepler supports vulkan and support g-sync.

If someone with the same problem want to add a message to the developer talk forum post, don't hesitate.

Quoting: wytrabbitA project maintained by Facebook? I trust them even less than MS
Oh well, but you've several alternatives:
1) Inspect the source code and see if there are evil things inside.
2) Use the original project when it was not yet mantained by Facebook:
https://github.com/danobi/oomd
Note: but still on github, mantained by microsoft!
3) Deal with it since it will be incorporated in systemd
https://github.com/systemd/systemd/pull/15206#issuecomment-689467195
Note: see note on #2
4) Use other similar projects: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Improving_performance#Improving_system_responsiveness_under_low-memory_conditions
5) have another terminal ready to rescue the system via ssh, better if sshd is mapped and locked in unswappable ram.
6) disable swap space
7) Take it easier :-P

Quoting: Avehicle7887Be careful if you want to tinker. Tip: I always keep an SSH login from my phone to pc in case of emergency access to terminal.
Use oomd instead:

NVIDIA GeForce NOW on Linux can run without user agent spoofing in a browser

Quoting: kokoko3kNever tried that, now i did and to my surprise, it seems that since you start a game from geforce now, you can actually use your local steam itself (instead of the browser) to stream the game.
Actually you will have double audio, i just mute chromium.
Why? Because that way you can use a controller, works well and rumble works as well.

Unfortunately, out of my 450+ steam games, only 43 are available.

That's weird, for me and my PlayStation 3 controller it works in ungoogled-chromium and lutris web version.

Mmh, i'll have to try without steam running, thanks.

Quoting: kokoko3kTried to download now, but it downloads 0 bytes and say missing executable.
i also tried to switch to steam runtime and uninstall and reinstall, but same result.
on top of that, iut won't launch anymore via proton (ZLDX12Shader error)

Did you enter the beta code?
Wops, missed that:

Thank you very much!
It fails on nvidia, but fortunately it works on intel.
Just another good reason to use nvidia gpu as a render offload device only :-)
