Civilization VI - New Frontier Pass launches without Linux and macOS
22 May 2020 at 11:04 am UTC

I think aspyr didn't ported the enhanced texture pack and Commander Lilith & the Fight for Sanctuary because they are/were free.
Probably they'll port the new Civ update because they will earn money from it.
Still, f###.

Quoting: kokoko3kLutris, on the other side, is very ugly :(

Really?

I don't think so, it has a dark theme and you can hide left and right panel to keep only the thumbs view.

Honestly?
Yes, imho it is ugly, but I'm glad you're enjoying it.

Well, Lutris provides custom installers for wine software like Playonlinux.
I don't think Gamehub does that.

FOSS app 'GOverlay' for managing Linux gaming overlays adds early support for vkBasalt

Quoting: TermyGOverlay is pretty cool - having lazarus as a makedep is not so cool though...1.2GB for a Toolkit is a bit much (and then people complain about 9MB for KDE Framework ^^)
Lazarus is just a makedep on Arch/derived.
It means is only needed to build it, it is by no means a toolkit, so you can get rid of it once built or wait for the package to be shipped by the official community repository.
That said i even doubt the PKGBUILD is right requiring the whole Lazarus ide as a dep.
Probably fpc would be enough.
Quoting: GuestAnd it depends from Gtk2, I tried to get rid of that! But I admit, the concept of this app is nice.
Also,
Quotekoko@slimer# pacman -Ss lazarus

...As far as i know Lazarus/fpc is not dependant from a specific toolkit, so i think it can be built with qt5 instead of gtk2.

What have you been playing recently? Come tell us what you think about it

Replaying shenmue and shenmue 2 on retroarch.
I'll get the third to play via Proton, next.
It will be the first game to play on Proton I'll spend money for.

3dSen NES emulator gives classics some 3D depth and it's pretty awesome

Probably i'm over simplifying things, but basically it takes some layers, extrudes them and maps the same texture on the extruded part.
I'm certainly missing a ton of work/specific game quirks here :)

OBS Studio 25.0 RC1 is out to further enhance video livestreaming and recording

Video capturing under linux + nvidia proprietary driver is a nightmare because:
1) Prop. driver doesn't support grabbing via dmabuf/kms
2) Proprietary solution, nvfbc, has been disabled intentionally and a binary patching is needed (for some reason, steam has the right to use it)

In the end, if gpu is under stress, video capturing and gameplay becomes very jerky.

obs does a good job by using xcomposite to do that (it seems there are no other tools that can do it, and it is faster than x11grab, but still inferior to kmsgrab), but then you need to select the window you want to capture, instead of the entire desktop; it may be useful or not really handy; depends on the use case of course.

The upcoming Frictional Games title now has a new teaser - what the heck is going on?
2 March 2020 at 2:33 pm UTC

To be honest, i played the penumbra titles because at the time there was not much choice.
Next i tried Amnesia, but i really did not like it too much, next it was SOMA and MAN, what a story.
I really hope it is something like that.

Finally enjoying (a lot) Shadow tactics:Blades of the shogun and Stardew Valley.
The first is absolutely appealing, on the second one.. i can't say yet if i'll continue playing for much longer.
