I've been bottling this up for years: I fucking hate crafting. I abhor every aspect of it and it annoys the hell out of me that every single game contains it now. Doesn't matter if it's an RPG, a shooter, or whatever. They are all crafting games now.

I fucking LOVE Mordheim (the actual tabletop game, not the video game). The video game version is decent and I really wish they had been successful enough to finish it. I would have gladly paid for DLC that contained every warband.

This thing has been on my wishlist so long that I forgot about it. Played a demo during a Steam Fest years ago and liked the atmosphere. Looking forward to playing it again in another 10 years when it finally releases.

I still can't get Midnight Suns to launch. I've tried all of the tricks on ProtonDB* but nothing happens. It just doesn't launch.
*except for using "Glorious Eggroll" - I still have absolutely no idea what that is, how to get it, or how to use it.

I stripped my grandfather's old Dell and turned it into a gaming computer for my daughter when she was 4. It had Circus Linux, Super Tux, and a bunch of old point n' clicks like the Pajama Sams and Putt Putts. She never really got into it.

Can I play the games I want? Can I play them on the platform that I want? The answers to those two questions are literally the only things that matter to most consumers, myself included. You might look down on us. You might consider us foolish. But our money spends just as well as yours and so our opinion means just as much as yours. As for the "vote with your wallets" idea - we did. All of us have been voting with our wallets for decades. That's how we wound up with Proton in the first place: having enough voting power to get Valve's attention but not enough voting power to get the attention of thousands of individual developers/publishers.

Quoting: EzequielThe amount of people that don't understand the difference between native gaming and Proton is simply astonishing. Proton is not a replacement and if you value yourself as a consumer you should never be complacent with a proton version.

There's a lot about this game that appeals to me, but it really seems to me like it needs a massive graphical overhaul. Every time they showed in-game footage of the combat, I had trouble differentiating the characters from the background (the graboids notwithstanding).
Edit: Just saw that the developer referred to representation in games as "crap." That's all I need to know to lose all interest in this.

I loved games like this back in the day. However, if Atom RPG has taught me anything, it's that I cannot go back. I don't know if I've gotten spoiled by modern quality-of-life improvements, if my attention span is shorter, or if my tastes have just changed but I just don't enjoy games that stick too slavishly to the "old school" anymore.
Steam Digital Tabletop Fest RPG Edition is live with many discounts

Call me spoiled, but I've come to expect demos when Steam runs a "fest." This is just a sale. Which would be fine, but I've come to expect free trading cards from their sales. I guess I've just hit a point where I have enough crap in my unplayed list that I can't justify buying anything else until I can get some free bonus swag thrown in.
And yeah, the cards aren't anything exciting, but if you play the market right you can easily walk away with a few extra bucks in your wallet (more if you luck into a foil). It ain't much, but it's better than nothing.

The Steam Summer Sale 2021 is now live with thousands of savings and a mini-game

True but sometimes you get foil cards that sell for a buck or two. Plus 'not much' savings is better than none and this method keeps my List of Shame pretty small.
I didn't know that this sale was doing that though. I didn't see it anywhere. Thanks for letting me know.
