Feral Interactive are teasing another Linux port

So do I mate, so do I. The first one was awesome, and we miss out on all the microtransactional buffonery by getting it now instead of alongside Windows! It has Very Positive reviews on Steam most recently. Oh, and it would probably come with Vulkan. So much yes.
Apart from that, I could see Dirt 4 or Dirt Rally, the new Alien game, or Hitman 2, given Feral's previous collaborations. I'd be fine with any of them coming to us, to be honest :)
If I had to wish upon a star for a game out of the blue for Feral to have a crack at, it would be Divinity: OS2 Divine Edition. It seems to have sold pretty well and has all round great reviews, but yeah, probably wishful thinking.

Valve has expanded the Steam Play whitelist to include DARK SOULS III and plenty more

Once they have got a large whitelist and have a bunch of AAA games that people love in it, Valve/Steam should do a big "Steamplay 2.0" sale with all of these titles at a healthy discount.
It would help increase Linux gaming's mindshare among Steam users, and show them that the barrier to switching isn't as great as it was once upon a time (or when they last tried it 5 years ago). It might get picked up by the mainstream gaming press too, in a way that some of the big sales do at the moment.
It's probably important to pick the right time to do something like this, they'd need more of the big games in the whitelist to really have an impact, so I don't think it's there yet. But soon, maybe, depending on how things keep developing.

Yeah, if you're going to pull support this late in the piece, this is the way to do it. Clear communication and an offer to reach out for support.
I'm not sold on their reasoning but it is what it is. Seems like a lot of devs are citing trouble with unity lately, hopefully that is not a symptom of a larger problem there.

Quoting: jo3fisAt least they were open about it and communicated with their fans.
Silent treatment would be a lot worse.

I once mentioned to the developer on reddit that I appreciated the native support of Helium Rain, but I had been burnt by early access titles one too many times (SNOW... uuugh) so I wasn't going to buy this until it launched launched. They said they had heard a similar thing from other potential customers, and seemed disappointed, but thanked me nonetheless for the kind words.
Never got around to telling them that I changed my tune about EA titles thanks to the ones that do it right (Factorio, Distance, Rise to Ruins etc etc), and that now I check reviews and the dev's Linux stance more thoroughly before writing them off completely.
Based on its reviews and Linux support I purchased this in early access about 3 months ago. It's great.

Everyone should play this game, it's great. Even if they don't like racing games, because it's actually a 3D platformer :)

That was my first thought too. Wouldn't say no to Shadow of War though, either :)

Valve officially confirm a new version of 'Steam Play' which includes a modified version of Wine

I haven't yet no, and I haven't played it under Wine for a while, although the last time was post the Remaster, which suggests if Ubi have shoehorned UPlay and Denuvo in, it's happened recently. Really hope that's not the case, as it worked well under Wine before, and I was hoping the integration into Steam/Big Picture would mean a lot easier set up under Linux in the future. I'll test and report back when I can.

Quoting: NonjuffoHave you tested RS2014 with Proton? That title is a serious mess of uplay, hardware dongles and ... Denuvo? WTH? Pretty sure that DRM wasn't there in 2014. Maybe that is the "remastering" they did later.

Dear God... the possibilities!
My first thought is Windows is gone from all of my machines forever, starting with the HTPC I use to play Rocksmith 2014 on.
Thank you Pierre-Loup, Yorha2B, and the rest of the Linux/graphics team at Valve,... doing such great work.
Bloody hell, that reminds me, I need to renew my CodeWeavers subscription.
