Rocket League - Has replaced League of Legends for me since RL got released on Linux. This is my competitive game fix. I am hoping to get All Star before season is over, but I have been stuck in Challenger 3/Elite the past few weeks.
Civilization VI - The strategy just got even more interesting with the changes in tech/civic trees/boosts, districts, etc.
Lara Croft GO - Good puzzle game and also 3-year old loves playing it with me.
Torchlight II - Reminds me of what I liked in Diablo II. Good battle mechanics, rewarding drops and plays well online.
Shovel Knight - Just fun. Good mechanics, challenging levels and good music.
99Vidas - I had not played a side-scrolling beat 'em up for a while. This is pretty dang fun and worked well cross-platform online multiplayer with friends.
Portal 2 - I come back to this one from time to time.
EDIT: More explanatory

I use SteamOS on a custom-built Steam Machine. However, I play more often on my desktop machine. So, my survey response here is about my desktop machine. You probably didn't mean that sentence to be read that way, but I just wanted to make sure it was clear that respondents may have multiple machines that are not accounted.

QuoteOur own survey suggests SteamOS use is pretty low (26 out of 1645 who answered it).

Rocket League released for SteamOS, it's in beta

I did not have a problem with the gameplay working on my custom Steam Machine and a Steam controller. However, it does not seem there is any way to chat with friends with just the Steam controller in game, had to get a bluetooth keyboard to type in those boxes. It is nice that during game, they give you hotkeys for quick chat messages (left d-pad on Steam controller).
The game runs very smooth so far for me. The only problem is one crash while loading a game. It crashed twice with the person I partied up with (also on Linux).
This game is fun. While it has been frustrating waiting while the devs are mostly silent, this game already seems worth the wait. The game seems to be at a good state and doesn't seem like the beta tag needs to last long.

Quoting: LeyRoseAnyone else having trouble getting any controllers to register? I've tried both an Xbox 360 controller as well as a Steam Controller (in both Big Picture mode and out of it) and RL doesn't seem to register anything at all. Still, super excited about finally having this game on Linux!

From dev on that steam discussion
I am guessing this is why the YouTube video in this article has a "This video has been removed by the user.".
QuoteHey - thanks for the hint ;). But this site is using a trailer that is over 1 year old. This does not at all represent the current build. I should update this one on Youtube.

FYI, they still have some text about coming soon for Linux in the source of the GOG Galaxy download page source. They make the visibility of that text conditional on if your OS is considered 'Windows' or 'Mac'. I am not sure why they don't want that text to show up if you are on a different OS.
Here is an image of that source:

Or go to view-source:https://www.gog.com/galaxy and search for "soon for Linux".

Quoting: cRaZy-bisCuiTThat's what I know! But when you clicked on "Download" it was advertised as "Coming to Linux soon!" - now that information is gone.
PS: Yes, GOG Galaxy.

http://steamcharts.com/app/252950#1y The player base is still looking pretty good based on the whole game lifespan. I wouldn't be too worried about the game feeling like the it is on it's way out.

Most often played in the last month: Close between League of Legends (WINE) and Ark: Survival of the Fittest. I enjoy competitive games. It would be nice if Riot Games would support Linux, but until then: no tux, no bux.
Other games I have played in the last month: Agar.io, Ark: Survival Evolved, Bastion, Civilization V, Dota 2, Factorio, Hotline Miami, Seven Kingdoms: Ancient Adversaries (Thanks for open-sourcing), Slither.io, Torchlight II, Unepic, Unturned

They have been slowly improving performance. The gameplay is what keeps me playing. Over three hundred hours.
Survival of the Fittest has been a separate game mode on the original Ark: Survival Evolved game for several months now. I believe they want to make this shorter, more-competitive style game mode free to play so that it can grow the user base. Not just be stuck to the player base of the purchasers of "Ark: Survival Evolved".
