Rebel Galaxy Outlaw and some reflection on Steam Reviews

Agreed. The reviews are a guideline of what most people like. We have things like actual real reviews from the press, let's plays, streams, etc, to make our own decisions.
If you're not puting any critical thought into the Steam review within the context of the game and it's target audience, I'm sorry, that's your fault, not Valve's. A decent niche game targeting a niche audience is probably going to have a higher score than a decent niche game targeting a general audience, for example. It's no different than press reviews. I don't think it will shock anyone that a strategy gaming site might review a rough, but good strategy game differently than a main stream site.
Either way, I'm glad you like the game. As a privateer fan, I'm gonna check it out based on your recommendation.
Ps... I would be really interested in an article about the abuse of the review system. I'd think a larger issue would be the "bored player", trolling, brigades, like you mentioned. I'm curious how much different devs fret about it and how it effects their choices.

Central Business District, I presume. That's what some places refer to as their downtowns.
Within my town's CBD is one of these pedestrian areas, a DORA (designated outdoor recreation area). It's part time. Pedestrian on the weekends (for tourism), but open to traffic during the week (for normal business).

On the spectrum of say Stardew Valley to RimWorld, one being more about managing relationships and the later being more into the simulation side of a whole colony, where would you put The Wandering Village?
Mostly asking as my partner prefers the former (Stardew valley, spirit Farer, etc). I get the impression it's more colony management for the village with managing a relationship with Onbu or am I off mark?

What a nice piece of software! I would love a libadwaita version of it 🤣
(I was thinking, I never saw a progress bar on it)

Very nice!
The VC in particular. New too me. It's interesting to see a funding company that appears to be dedicated to open source companies. I can see a lot of benefits to having financial and business support that understand and had experience working with open source. Hopefully it works out well.

I think those are some good points. I think one thing in Intel's favor might be there driver stability. Intel graphics have "just worked" with very few problems relatively compared to Nvidia/AMD for a very very long time.
I would assume a good part of that is that their IG isn't exactly targeting anything bleeding edge, but from the comments above, it doesn't seem they are necessarily targeting high end right away (is there a business reason for that? It doesn't make sense to me).
Either way, I'm interested in seeing more. If they can match performance of cards released in the last 3-4 years and it's relatively problem free, I think that would be a huge success.

Socks and Sandals are heresy ( we all just read the first line, didn't we?, Lol)!!!
Besides the obvious point of looking like the Linux nerd other Linux nerds pretend to not know (you know who!), It's highly impractical! The whole point of the flip flop is to be FREE of the tyranny of moist socks!!! The horrors of wet socks while walking in the snow! The inability to shake the sand out at the shore! Having to use *gasp* a washing machine instead of hosing off much feet! AGHAST! SHOCK! NAY!!
😂 Lol 😆

Me 2. I might seriously consider one as a card upgrade depending how they take benchmark / thermal wise.
Valve overhauls the Steam Store with new categories, hubs and filtering

Agreed. I stopped using the store for browsing shortly after they implemented the "feed-like" scroll for the store. I mostly find games via recommendations on GOL or other sites/communities.
I know Valve makes all their money from the store so there's the incentive to keep people engaged Steam as much as possible, but I never felt super comfortable browsing the store (to be fair, it's the same with most online stores for me).
I'm glad they are making it easier to browse. I'll have to try it out.
