First thought... Where did the character hide that scythe in the opening animation?!?!
I wonder if they hired the same artist(s) from the Hollow Knight devs?
Either way it looks cool, just gonna be hard not to compare it directly to hollow knight, which is a tough act to follow

Valve fires back in the lawsuit from Wolfire Games

Thank you for the clarification. If assume it's all under NDA, including the guidelines, hence why neither party in the suit is actually posting the verbage or any communications. Probably be filed under seal to the court, right?

Quoting: rustybroomhandleWhen you get Steam Partnered (as I am) you have to agree to a contract, but on the partner web site there are pages with some guidelines.

Humble has a pretty big Starfinder RPG bundle going with physical goodies

It's all good. I think my writing was not great, sorry about that.
I too, enjoy D6 based rules. My group did ok with a slightly home ruled Traveller, and I'm thinking of trying them on D6 Space or mini6. They are definitely more into the narrative part of the game rather than simulation aspects, which is ok. I just know I'm prolly not going to get them interested in a book full of charts, lol.

Quoting: slaapliedjeGURPS being d6 based makes it cleaner, I think.

I'm sorry, I'm confused. Isn't Starfinder based off Pathfinder like D20 based? I'm not familiar with Gurps, but I thought it was D6, right?
What I was trying to say is that, at least for my friends, Starfinder might be a little to number/mechanic heavy. They did 4e to start, but the math was a turn off for them.
My understanding is that it's a little less fantastical, right? I've heard good things about it. I looked at it years ago, but my group was more into Lasers and Feelings or Kids with Bikes than anything like a D20 system. So I didn't look into it much, since I'd have no one to play with, lol.
I will say, for sci-fi, I know my group won't like the system, but the world building is so good, I do have a bunch of Eclipse Phase source books. It's a great dystopic take on transhumanism. It even had a Fate conversion, which in my mind, makes it a better Mindjammer.

I think it's a little too crunchy for my people. The balked at 4e...
Although, I'm a sucker for a good source book, especially sci Fi. Not a lot of good ones out there... I have to check it out
I will never understand how people think GURPS is too crunchy

Quoting: nullzeroNow that you mention 4e I got curious. What do you think of 13th Age? I had the idea it is some kind of D&D 4.5 and it is also in humble bundle.

Yeahhhh, the rate at which they abandon hardware is alot.... They have what, one piece of hardware they still sell?
Maybe I'm reading it weird, but from the context, I'm less certain they don't mean "PC is Windows" and thier understanding of proton is so poor they are confusing the basics.

Quoting: no_information_here(I am a little concerned that Valve has hardware ADHD. The fact they can't get a 2nd gen controller out the door seems like they just don't have the right internal capacity for hardware.)

Quoting: grumpytoadI'm just glad they're calling it a PC, so we can finally put that mainstream mentality that a PC is a windows OS to bed.

That's some good points. I totally agree it's more powerful than a switch.
I think 1280x800 is a good resolution to target for such a tiny screen.
It's a Shame Valve isn't more specific on the VPU and GPU, unless I missed something on the website. Then we'd have a way to compare possible performance.

I must say, I totally agree with you there. Although I must admit I am beginning to worry Valve thinks otherwise.
Ya, know, this got me thinking, and yes I'm taking it a bit out of context. I remember reading an article about porting to the Switch and how difficult it can be. Part of the reason is that it is under-powered hardware compared to the other available platforms.
The Steam Deck is in the same boat, no? It's certainly not a Desktop, or even a laptop. I mean their web page showed them playing Factorio (I didn't recognize the others, sorry). Great game, but runs just fine on my 2014-5 laptop with integrated graphics.
So what's the target audience and game type? Indie titles? Older titles? Hobbyists? Kids?
I mean I don't think say, CyberPunk 2077 is gonna run on it. What about The Witcher 3, or Total War: What ever we're up to?
I kinda wonder if "porting to the Deck" is going to be a tough sell.
In the Switch article, its implied that the cost of porting was made up for by sales. Hopefully that's true for devs targeting the Deck hardware.

Quoting: caseinpointgiven that the Deck isn't very powerful when compared to the rest of the consoles - devs will have to port their games to be able to present a passable product to their customers.
