Literally made me think of Gourmond, from Wild Kratts.

Space Haven looks tempting pretty much right up my alley, but I'll have to wait till it's done or 2022, which ever is later.

Quoting: headless_cyborgUnfortunately, it's really hard for me to find anything even remotely interesting (browsing native only)

I'm out a similar mindset. Maybe my tastes are changing our maybe I'm internalizing my goal to not purchase any games this is year. I think more, that I'm just getting more picky about what I want to spend my money and time on despite all the great games out there.

GOG are doing an early Summer Sale that's now live

I can recommend hollow knight and opus magnum. Both are very good.

Wasteland 2. I've kinda found a lot of the "epic" party RPG'S (bioware and co.) to be fairly boring or frustrating, but I figured I'd give it a try with a different theme and developer.

Funny as I figure those would be right up my alley, but outside of Planescape: Torment, I've never finished one. I have finished Fallout though, so I'm giving Wasteland 2 a try.

Also just finished X:com Enemy Within. Very good game. Kinda has me searching for something similar, perhaps a little more strategic

Valve looks to be overhauling Steam Library folders to finally make them more useful

I'm a little conflicted on the new design. I prefer the compact layout and clear information of the old design as opposed to the new designs aesthetics. It's such a jumbled waste if space. But I do like the idea to quickly see what's in each library(and hopefully search and sort that list)

It's almost like the idea of adding a window to the side of the old library list that would populate with a list of games and relevant stats was too obvious, so it had to be wrong.

Quoting: ElectricPrismIn essence you could say I spend THOUSANDS of dollars to _NOT_ use WINDOWS

I like this.

Also..
Quoting: ElectricPrismHell I threw a thousand at Valve just to buy a Index when I'm not a VR person,...
...

Wanna throw me a band while you're at it?

I use Linux because in 2008 I was building an entertainment center PC and was testing it using Linux (to avoid license registration hell) and was setting up the surround sound. I needed to test the speakers. I cat'ed the CPU's random number generator to the soundcard. Voila.. soft static coming from every speaker and the sub. So I could check wiring and speaker placement without running around. Do that in Windows.

Lastly. These prices seem pretty typical for when these title go on sale? I have a few on wishlist and not to be mean, but I'm not seeing any thing exceptional. Or am I missing something?

Yeah. I think the biggest offenders for me T the time we the games that tried to do other open spaces. But, the engine and cards weren't good enough to give a lot of detail or objects so you ended up with these large areas with a few repeating textures and not much else.

Battle zone 2 comes to mind and I can remember others, but not thier names. Parts of Morrowind and KOTOR also suffered a little bit as time progresses

Yaaasssss
Did you see a new Stalker game is coming out? I should go back and play the others, as whenever I tried to play them back in the day, it seemed my computer didn't run fast enough, or I cranked up the settings too high for it to run smoothly, and it felt jerky. Though I kind of always blamed the engine for that.

I did. I hope it's good. I played the whole trilogy and part of anomaly this fall. Ran great in wine. First one is still my favorite, but Anomaly is good too.

Quoting: 14This game's graphics were not terribly consistent in the trailer. Some of the outdoor scenes looked much better than indoor scenes. Yes, reminded me of Half-Life 2 or SWAT 4 age of graphics.

Yeah, they didn't seem too consistent. My cutoff for "old FPS graphics" is more in the middle late 90's (Thief, system shock 2), although I think it varies heavily depending on art direction and level design. Some age very well, some not so much.
