I recognise the static noise issue. I had that this week with Shadow Warrior. Both times there was a browser window with a flash open. So it does appear that there is a bug in PulseAudio that causes one app to mess up the sound of another.
The 'SMACH Z' gaming handheld is back on Kickstarter, no longer using SteamOS but their own Linux version

As a project it looks pretty interesting. Unfortunately, the developer has a pretty bad history of failed projects.

I think that the 7€ price was a mistake. The reduction was only for the Euro price and corrected very quickly to 10€. Which is still pretty cheap for this game.

Quoting: Mountain ManQuoting: coruunConsidering that Steam had the game listed for 6.99€ in the past, I'll buy it, when it's on sale. 30€ is too steep for me :/I'm hoping for a sale to go along with the Linux release, but I'll buy it regardless.

The OpenGL results on Linux are actually pretty good. The results between the options are surprisingly close anyway. It explains why I couldn't detect any difference in the demos.
There's still quite a bit of work left to do though. Even if the demo is already optimised to work with the older APIs, DX12 and Vulkan should at least manage to level with the top. It should be interesting to see if devs can make use of it in ways that they couldn't before.

I had a blast with it as well. It's a shame that the port is so bad, but the game is good enough to stick with it.

Quoting: FireStarWFinally finished playing through Saints Row 2 recently after starting it months ago, although its a pretty crappy port (and I mean the original Windows port and not the linux wrapper) I found it more fun than SR4, put way more hours into it.

It's still better to have *a* golden standard than no at all. At least game devs have a fixed system to test against. Otherwise they may have been scared off by the excessive amount of choice.

Quoting: tmtvlAnyway, it probably is Kubuntu, because the *buntus are still considered to be the golden standard, unfortunately.
