Quoting: Purple Library GuyLiam's leading us down The Garden Path again.
Ironically, the headline is not a garden path sentence.

Gourdlets is a chilled sandbox game about building towns for cute vegetable folks

Wow. This made me think of one of LEGO's earliest games (which I haven't thought of in probably decades at this point), Lego Loco. Which was similar in being a sort of open-ended sandbox where you built towns and various (LEGO) creatures showed up and just kinda moved around and chilled out. Although I think the trains were supposed to be focus.

Selaco is now in Early Access - one of the best shooters I've played in forever

Shooters typically aren't really my jam, and I haven't really played any of the older games this is modeled after, but this engaging review not-a-review has actually got me somewhat interested.

I don't have the patience to build the kinds of cool contraptions I see other people make, but I can't wait to see the videos of people making contraptions that can finally handle all three domains of air, land, and sea.

Hopefully, like Stardew Valley, it adds multiplayer in future.

Oh man, I can't wait for the first news articles to break about when Microsoft inevitably stuffs something up in an update and people's embarrassing private session get uploaded and shared far and wide. 🤣 You know that's going to happen eventually.

It's worth noting that not even Windows users are particularly enthused at the idea, as in this article on PCGamer.

Quoting: LoftyAre we 'dehumanizing' an invading army by calling them a 'force' ?
Yes. We call them "enemy forces," not "enemy people." An important facet of war is finding ways to dehumanize the people you're fighting so you/your soldiers don't feel so bad about killing them.

Arctic Eggs is thoroughly weird physics-based dystopian cooking game

QuoteSomeone said something about flamingos being banned and now they no longer exist?
Where do you think all those eggs are coming from? The chickens? Those are just for show.

It's not quite my cup of tea, but I do so love these kinds of weird indie games in general.

Quoting: MinuxThis game isn't serious. The chicken is the best without doubt. 🐔
Neigh! It's the snakeboarding skate – I mean, skateboarding snake.

I've played this quite a lot over the years with friends, and it's always a blast (sometimes literally). The new levels look pretty interesting, I'll have to see about setting up a session.

The Official Stardew Valley Cookbook is out now

I was going to complain there was no starfruit in the recipe for Lucky Lunch, only to check the wiki and discover there isn't in the game either. (It's just Sea Cucumber, Tortilla, and Blue Jazz.) I think the in-game icon was throwing me off.

…I have a sudden hankering for starfruit now.

The Machine Age DLC for Stellaris out now along with free Andromeda update

Quoting: TriasWhile I'm not that hyped about new types of machine empires, I must say their new Cosmogenesis "become Crisis" path sounds cool. I mean, you literally embark your entire civilization on a gigantic ship and jump into a black hole in hopes to create a whole new and better universe for your people...

Feels like a proper "science victory" for me. :).
Yeah, unlike the original "become the Crisis" path from Nemesis where you wipe out all other life in the galaxy, this one isn't ethics-locked so you can do it as whatever you like. Which is pretty neat.
